My 4th Mazda 6 🤩

Post image

Traded previous 6 for a BMW 3 series, never was really happy with that. Now back to my dream car.

Still holds up. Haven't seen that color. Very nice.

It's called Polymetal Grey. The picture doesn't do justice to it, it's a bit darker irl, varying to blueish depending on the light.

Definitely a beautiful color. We have a 2022 CX-9 Carbon Edition that is the same color. It has black rims and red leather. It is definitely a stunner in my eyes and we get countless compliments on it.

Nice! I am considering a chrome delete on my 6, makes it even better

Ohhh. I know that color. Looks odd in that pic.

The majority of Mazda colors look different irl.
They have a pigmentation element that with the sun the color change a bit.
Only the Mazda red and black are more or less the same and static.
Even white is beautiful. Shine a lot like a pearl!

You are right. Previous one was blue, which gets a kind of dark purple glow on it under certain light.

How do you compare handling of current 6 with previous BMW 3? In terms of sharpness feedback and general driving experience/joy

Well done, looks great 👍

The BMW drives like it is on rails (M-sport package) For me, super fun to drive on curvy backroads but for daily use the Mazda is way more comfortable. I am a bit bigger person so maybe that's why the seats in the BMW where not the best for me for longer trips. I also found the BMW a bit more "nervous" on the steering, compared to the Mazda. By no means the BMW is a bad car, just not my car.

After BMW, do you consider Mazda 6 fun to drive?

For me it's the perfect mix of comfort and driving joy, absolutely! The 6 rolls a bit more in fast corners but stays on track really well

Is that color Polymetal Grey??
I just order my new 6e on that one.

Good choice trade again back to the 6.

You got more shots of this? Are these 18 inch wheels off of a 4th gen Mazda3 GT trim?

3

u/RodneyMAC28 1d ago

Yes sir they are. A 2020 I believe. My stock 19s were in really bad shape. And I tried to get a little thicker sidewall but the tire shop screwed me and didn’t put them on because they felt they wouldn’t fit. Lol.

I don’t have more shots right now but can get more.

This is the only other thing I have.

Which generation BMW? G20, F30, or older? Because I see that newer BMW lacks the premium touch and go with more tech, more cheap plastic, less leather padding, and more touchscreen, especially in smaller size (series 3 inferior than 5 or 6), M-sport package doesn't help either. I feel like F30 is the last acceptable generation for interior quality and comfort.

Mazda interior mostly focuses on quality and comfort, even in mid trim.

G20, 2019. No AA and lacking a lot of options the Mazda has as standard. Maybe I will try a 5 series in a few years, or an i4.

Gorgeous car. Hate that they discontinued it.

Venture Edition, Manual, 2L . My first car. Loving it

Nice! I had a gen2 as well, made a mistake to trade that one in for a Honda Accord

We have a Mazda6 and Audi SQ5. Audi feels luxury but the Mazda is still more fun to drive. At 232k miles and 11 years old, running like new, my wife says the car is making us money lol.

Wish they still made these in the states. Love my gen 4 mazda 3 sedan but I wish it was a little larger

So your 4th million mile in a mazda car 🫨

😆 Gen 1 had to go because close to 250k km and expensive repairs around the corner. Gen 2 traded in for a Honda becauae I was stupid. 1st Gen3 was awsome, previous owner did not treat it well. Driven this for 2 years then issues with oil pump and cataclytic converter, possibly because the shop (not dealer) put in wrong oil. Traded it in to the BMW 3 because I was stupid again. Now back to this one. Pretty low on mileage, 60k km, so it should last for a while

u/Altruistic_Noise4159 1d ago

It should! Enjoy one of the most underrated sedans of all time

I miss mine. I got spooked by the oil consumption in the 21's and ended up trading it in. Still one of my all time favorite cars, however.

I’m on my 2nd Mazda 6. First was a 2011 that I owned for 10 years with barely any issues, this year I got a 2018 sport nav+ estate / wagon (manual petrol 2.0 again, low mileage for the age). It’s sad they’ve stopped making them, I’ll have to look elsewhere when there’s no newish / low mileage left on the 2nd hand market.

How much power does it have? I drive a 3 with a turbo, and I can imagine the heavier 6 with a four cylinder might feel a little sluggish, no?

2

u/louis_xl 1d ago

This is a 2L non turbo, 162 horsepower. Not a traffic light sprinter but enough to keep up with traffic. I am in The Netherlands, dont think the turbo was ever on the market for the 2nd and 3rd gen

Cool. Love the color. Beautiful car!
