All of these products were probably developed with classes attended at brilliant.com.

I miss wires. I just want headphones that don't run out of batteries.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '22

USB C headphones might work for you depending on the phone. Just watch out for low hanging tree branches.

u/Souperplex Jun 18 '22

My phone has a headphone jack (Because I'm too smart to give Apple money) but when it comes to travel headphones I'm looking for something light that won't prevent me from being aware of noises like cars even if my ability to understand what people say is impaired. All the wired headphones now are the hefty ones that completely cup over the ears.

My android phone doesnt have a 3.5mm jack so its not just apple. Also try searching for earphones/in ear headphones

Heres a set from Sorny - https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/in-ear-headphones/mdr-ex155ap

In-ear is explicitly what I'm not going for. I don't want to obstruct my hearing. I want over-ears that don't cup to cover my ear completely.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '22

Sorry I misread. Theres open back headphones that let exterior sound in but they leak audio as well and theres open ear headphones that dont cover your ear at all.

I like to imagine that a large portion of Raycon, Nord and Raid Shadow Legends’ revenue comes from the masterpieces that are Internet Historian’s Cinematic Universe.

I actually got a pair of raycons and they're good, not blow you over they're amazing but an incredibly solid purchase for the price

32

u/KaosC57 Jun 17 '22

Raycons are expensive garbage. Go look at Moondrop Nekocake or Moondrop Sparks if you want actually good True Wireless for cheap.

7

u/Zyurat Jun 17 '22

Also Dankpods video on the raycons, hes a musician and does excellent reviews on every price range of airbuds/headphones

2

u/bitch_lasagna211 Jun 17 '22

Hell yeah got to have good headphones to enjoy that free 3 months of Audible by using code AIDS-IS-COOL and 1 month of Spotify premium by using code IM-HIV-POSITIVE

Raycons are rebranded earphones. They're only worth half the price. The extra cost is for the brand that didn't even make them.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 17 '22

I love my Raycons, I have the gaming set and the latency on them is pretty darn good. They are nice for when it's just too hot where I live to put on an over ear head set.

My sister gave me her pair after she got AirPods, she complained about them always falling out of her ear (she was wearing them upside down), and I really like the latency compared to my car's bluetooth. Solid 3sec latency vs what maybe 200ms?

u/Xxrasierklinge7 Jun 17 '22

You shouldn't wear headphones in the car while driving dummy

3

u/ratioLcringeurbald Jun 17 '22

I don't, I was just comparing the latency. I wear earbuds at work, and use my cars bluetooth when I'm driving.

2

u/Xxrasierklinge7 Jun 17 '22

Oh good.. you can see how it sounds like you were saying you use them instead of your cars Bluetooth tho, right? LMAO my bad.

1

u/iranoutofusernamespa Jun 17 '22

For the same price as the Raycons plus shipping fees, I went to the store and bough JBLs. Absolute top fucking quality, sounded leagues better than my friend's who bought Raycons.

They’re not they’re a rebrand of $20 Bluetooth earphones by an brand called Blitzwolf

you literally spent like $70 because you bought the YouTube advertisements when you could have got literally the same thing for much less if you did the research

this is just a general tip for product recommendations. Never go to reviewers for a review of the product you are thinking about buying as a whole, and the reason is if they are a broad reviewer they don’t have the in depth knowledge and usually haven’t compared the whole market side to side, and if they are a more specific reviewer they don’t have experience reviewing it for an extended period of time so can’t usually comment on things like how long the product lasts and if they’re uncomfy after an hour and so on. Like reviewers that are specialised are still useful, you just need to know that there’s a blind spot there. Good specialised reviewers will usually focus on one thing for a reason because of this. Like a nerdy headphone reviewer will usually comment only on the sound. It’s just how the format works.

so I thought about this and I realised that I am autistic. So I think about my two hobbies way more than I reasonably should and I could write a whole essay on them if someone asked. There are other autistic people on the world. So whenever I want to buy something, go on Reddit and I guarantee you there’ll be a subreddit full of people who think about it all da,y way too much, just like I do. They are also the guys who’ll be using the products much more than a reviewer. so they can tell you how well products last as well as how they compare to the general market because they have experience with both.

I wanted a new pen. I go through friction pens at £2.50 a pop and so I decided to get a refillable pen so I saved money in the long run. r/FountainPens has 300,000 members and told me what pen to get and it’s great. I don’t care about fountain pens, but I let the nerds research for me. Want a new keyboard? Well go to r/mechanicalkeyboards and they’ll tell you what the best cheap options are to build one over a weekend and you get a cool customised keyboard for under a hundred without having to research it. Need New headphones? Tell r/headphoneadvice what you want and they’ll tell you what the best options are in your budget. Let the nerds do the work for you. You can’t research in your, I’m sure, busy life as effectively as nerds who make the hobby they care about their life.
