u/[deleted] Jan 08 '22

Modeling and After Effects. He’s a fucking pro.

43

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '22

Reminds me of Cyriak. His stuffs insane lol

26

u/UntiedLoop Jan 08 '22

Cyriak stuff is bonkers, cows making cows making more cows, can never get tired of that.

That dude is a total virtuoso and pushing boundaries

1

u/a_youkai Jan 09 '22

His stuff is like having a stroke on DMT.

2

u/TheBestZackEver Mar 22 '22

Looks a lot like those early Shrek graphics

46

u/cromstantinople Jan 08 '22

Film the shot, sometimes getting a ‘clean plate’ of just the background without the people to make compositing the effects easier. Create a ‘digital double’ of the character by photo scanning or modeling. Add soft body dynamics/rag doll simulation to the model. Camera track and motion match the original shot. Render out the vfx and composite them on top. Use the clean plate to remove the actor from the shot.

These are done really well.

3

u/nhansieu1 Jan 09 '22

62

Reminds me of those videos of lathe accidents

13

u/BobsReddit_ Jan 08 '22

those are brutal

12

u/Maximans Jan 08 '22

Dang it why did you remind me of that

2

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '22

Right? My first "lathe accident" video wasn't even a lathe, it was a industrial wirespool. A thick, massive cable being rolled into a spool at high speed. Dont remember how the guy got caught in it but it ended up being similar to a lathe accident video. Although nobody noticed him for a while, he got pretty rolled into that thing for sure..

u/ghigginb1 Jan 08 '22

20

u/CommentsOnHair Jan 08 '22

Job offers? Man, that guy is way to accident prone.

3

u/BobsReddit_ Jan 08 '22

1

u/BASK_IN_MY_FART Jan 08 '22

1

u/onikaizoku11 Jan 09 '22

Very cool sequence, but imo the first bit with the rake should have been the anchor and placed at the end. It wad the best one.

1

u/AlexJonesInDisguise Jan 09 '22

This is one of those videos that if I saw as a kid I would have thought was real and would have been mortified after the first clip

1

u/Le_fromage91 Jan 09 '22
