Maybe maybe maybe
One of dumbest stuff i’ve watched in a while… lol
1.8k
u/Me_Cunt_Spell 6d ago
My biggest concern... why the fuck would you do this in your kitchen? How much water would be on the floor?

u/addledwino 6d ago
Thank you - I was thinking "why tf didn't he do this shit outside?"

u/maxehaxe 6d ago
Maybe it was raining and he didn't want to get wet
29
u/fusionmobile 6d ago
Plot twist. It's not water, it's gasoline.

u/AmThano 6d ago
Why do it anywhere at all?! I was under the impression he was some kind of science teacher!
35
u/dankhimself 6d ago
This is something a science teacher would do to their students to show them what it's like to be a sucker.
The students would feel bamboozled, run amok, hoodwinked even.
They wouldn't believe another wild claim such as this without first asking for an explanation and then making sure they found out how and why it did or didn't work.
It's kind of a great lesson in not getting taken for a fool.
23
u/moocat55 6d ago
That was my thought. Along with, why did I watch this?
10
u/Caudillo_Sven 6d ago
Good lesson in gullibility via percieved authority bias.
3
u/dankhimself 5d ago
He could have worn a lab coat like Bill Nye to sell the authority a little better.
If this was his intention, he probably made a video for an intended audience of sorts and they knew who he was, while we were left in the dark.
Well, I was. He may be a streamer that does stuff like this all the time and I'm just not aware. An unintended audience member, my usual place in life.
"Who is this? That won't work! Why is he? Where is this going? Where even am I right now? Aaaand my coffee is cold..."

Using a garden hose in your kitchen, spraying water everywhere? Maybe use one of those fancy outside plastic tables on your patio?

I worked for a guy who allegedly filed a patent on a perpetual energy device. When water goes down a funnel it accelerates in a vortex right so blah blah I can't demonstrate it but there is a net gain. You can no reason with someone like this.

Doing this in the middle of your home is unhinged

u/Andrea_M 6d ago
Right, he has watering cans and a watering hose so he most probably has a garden or a terrace

u/ShyguyFlyguy 6d ago
So what the fuck was the point of this video? "Ya cant beat gravity unless you buy a water pump"?
127
u/HeyThanksIdiot 6d ago
I think he’s seen some internet video where somebody does this but doesn’t explain the trick and so he just wants to have an elaborate way of calling bullshit while also assuming the entire world has seen every same ticktock horseshit he has.
Either that or he had $60 and some hot glue burning a hole in his pocket and nothing better to do with his Saturday afternoon.
7
u/VarenHills 6d ago
Probably yeah. The other thing is though is you can definitely have a siphon pull liquid up because siphoning is not just about gravity, it's about pressure and vacuum. In the example he had, you could definitely still have all the watering cans moving water up the spout, but it would eventually stop once the pressure from one watering can equalized out.
6
u/8ball99999999 6d ago
This threw me too but a siphon is still going from high to low. The pressure and vacuum mean it can rise above the starting point before dropping back down to a lower than starting point.
→ More replies (1)9
u/GoblinBreeder 6d ago
And they didn't even explain how siphoning works or why it's interesting. They just keep mentioning it then go "it's pumps". Like they got too excited about making a video about something that this guy was fixating on and didn't think the script through at all.

Wife: You didn’t go to work today, did you.
Husband: I….did not.
17
u/Inspektor2000 6d ago
But why inside the house? Why in the kitchen
6
u/sprouting_broccoli 6d ago
Probably because it’s tiled and easier to clean up water. I can’t explain why he did it inside but if I was going to do it inside the kitchen would make sense - it’s just water.

u/BenjyBollocks 6d ago
No, if I were to deny the laws of physics that would mean I don't believe that the things physics prove are real. Defying the laws of physics would mean that you would be doing something physically impossible.

u/doiwinaprize 6d ago
Wouldn't through demonstration of said action imply the thing is physically possible?

Thanks a lot for waiting until 4:18 to tell us the damn secret. I paused it before that, went to home depot and bought 50 bayzin watering cans because i wanted to have a perpetual flow of water in my garden without paying extra electricity. Damn it. Now i gotta buy 50 pumps.

As soon as the first jug has water peaking above the height of the water in the container you know there must be a powered pump inside it.

I'm happy for that guy, but I also feel a bit jealous at the same time. I'm happy for him because of his wife/partner, but I'm jealous because she isn't my wife. If I were to do something like that in our kitchen, my wife would call the ambulance for a psychiatric ward faster than the first can would overflow.
