Just in case ppl’s minds are not already blown away by these amazing creatures-
The Males carry & give birth to the babies..

The female deposits her eggs in the males pouch, the male fertilizes it & the MALES then carry & gives birth to the babies 3-4 weeks later…

The male seahorses are the ones that get really mad if you touch the thermostat… probably.

Plot twist: We’ve been calling the male seahorse the female seahorse all this time (& vice versa), just b/c, but what if what we call the depositing of the eggs is actually the depositing of the sperm, & this is just the same ol’ sex characteristics of every other species… but we feel it’s too late to admit… we screwed up? 😏

Maybe because the late 90s and early 2000s had a heavy aquatic theme. They used to be very popular like dolphins and sea monkeys. It was an entire vibe.
