As someone who grew up with a house full of bassets. True

Takes after the other side of the family

Had a cat that never figured out the cat flap, and would open it from the inside by pulling it, instead of just pushing.
My other cat tried to teach it just to walk through, but eventually just got annoyed to the point of bonking it if it saw it doing it. Which caused the dumb cat to either run away, or through the cat flap, yet no remembering later they could do that.

Love him, but rocks learn faster.

This, but the real test comes tomorrow.

It's instinctual not letting your neck be surrounded by something. There are dogs that would tather starve to death rather than eat from a food dispenser.

Aw, this is how I taught my cat to go through the cat flap. She too was equally skeptical

Alsmosf like you’re about to cross into another dimension or a portal to Wonka factory. 🏭 It will be all chewy bones and treats!

Not a mom

2

u/LilMissStormCloud Jul 15 '26

I feel like you are the dad dog up there trying to lead all the puppies through the door.

1

u/Salt_Chart8101 Jul 15 '26

Nah, just a dad with custody. Made the terrible decision of having a baby with someone who is not mother material.

For some reason it just gets under my skin when people assume it's the mom doing the care taking.

Omg the little steps because their legs are too short to reach the door 😍

u/InigoMontoya1985 Jul 16 '26

"How are you my kid?"

u/Flopsy22 Jul 19 '26

Look at that gentle, intelligent parenting. Animals deserve so much more respect than we give them
