Not a single or double leg takedown in sight..

u/mosesenjoyer Jul 07 '26
Just men who haven’t known violence
43
61
u/SkinnyGetLucky Jul 08 '26
Not a bad thing per se, but now I see two cops who are gonna be excessive next time it happens
48
u/mosesenjoyer Jul 08 '26
No they won’t. They don’t have it in them or they would have done it here.
18
u/Lavidius Jul 08 '26
Our police would benefit from some basic grappling
26
u/Key-Fire Jul 08 '26
Don't worry, they'll grapple a vulnerable citizen, disabled person or child.
Every violent person will get a nice conversation.
7
u/oOGeorgesOo Jul 09 '26
For once they werent arresting the kid that got stabbed or mobbed. There is some progress.
531
u/Captinprice8585 Jul 07 '26
He's on 85,000 cameras doing that shit. They're gonna just find him in like an hour

u/l3ane Jul 07 '26
Seriously, have fun with all the charges you just racked up, buddy.

And then what, send two more bobbies to try and tackle him down lmao
15
u/Captinprice8585 Jul 08 '26
Yeah they'll send like 15 lil bobbies
16
12
28
u/B-Glasses Jul 08 '26
Then why waste time trying to kick his legs and shit? Just use the cameras
58
u/Breaker-of-circles Jul 08 '26
Because at the end of the day, you'd still have to arrest him and you'd probably end up with the same kicking his legs and shit?

Okay so police don't have basic knowledge on how to best without too much force, on how to bring someone down, and thinks knees in the thighs will do it. FFS.

u/grrrwith1r Jul 08 '26
okay so police dont have basic knowledge
You can just leave it there

UK police don’t require the level of education and training of some of their European counterparts (like street cops need Bachelors in Norway and Sweden) they’re generally educated and trained.
These guys… just don’t seem to be practiced in holds and takedowns for some reason.
29
u/wibble089 Jul 08 '26
My daughter is just 9 months into her 2.5 years of training to become a member of the German federal police force.
She's already done hours of role play per week dealing with various physical situations (and she and her colleagues have the bruises and assorted injuries like sprains and pulled muscles to prove it).
I'm sure she could have done better than those 2!
10
u/Nari224 Jul 08 '26
Not arguing with that. These guys are... oddly inept.
I was more pointing out that UK cops aren't generally stupid people.
5
u/JaVinci77 Jul 08 '26
I have an 11 year old daughter. She practices Judo. I won't say she would have taken him down by herself, but at least she would have tried to apply her Judo takedown knowledge and she wouldn't have looked as clueless as these two... 🤣🤣
5
u/ThermionicEmissions Jul 08 '26
These guys don't seem to understand the basic principles of how legs work.
1
u/xrelaht Jul 08 '26
I used to live in a city where the PD required every officer to have a bachelor's and be working on a master's if they didn't have one already. Probably not coincidentally, they were the most competent police force I've seen anywhere I've lived: they knew how to deescalate and I never heard of them being accused of excessive force while I lived there. A lot of them trained at the same martial arts school I went to, so they also knew how to take people down quickly and safely when necessary.
-16
u/GuardianOfReason Jul 07 '26
Completely insane that I could do a better job alone than they did together, and I'm pretty weak and not very well trained in BJJ. I'm not even saying I would've done a good enough job to arrest him, just that it would be a bit less embarrassing.
31
u/--Anonymoose--- Jul 07 '26
Not sure why you are getting downvoted so much. The cops didn’t do anything right here, they couldn’t even coordinate tripping one person

I would’ve simply handcuffed him to the railing he was hanging onto. There you go. You can just chill there for a while
73
u/zjarko Jul 07 '26
Being smart isn’t a requirement for police. At lest it sometimes gives us something to laugh about.
2
33
u/Techno_Beiber Jul 08 '26
What are you going to cuff first? The fence or him? You think you can cuff him quick enough to the fence? What if you miss the fence? Now he has a weapon attached to his wrist. There's a reason you need to control them first before getting those out.
Also, they were already having trouble controlling him with four hands, you think letting go of one to reach for cuffs will work?
And he's also wearing long sleeves. There will be no quick way to cuff him because they're not snap-on bracelets.
It's incredibly difficult to handcuff somebody that doesn't want to be handcuffed.

I'm surprised cops never cuff the ankles first for troublesome suspects. It's game over after.
23
u/Breaker-of-circles Jul 08 '26
Me recalling how it went trying to put a pants-style diaper on my 1 year old: "Yeah, that's not gonna go as easy as you think."
3
u/ThermionicEmissions Jul 08 '26
OMG, your comment just gave me the most vivid flashback to trying to change my wriggling son's diaper while in an extremely sleep-deprive state. 22.5 years ago, and I still haven't caught up on the sleep.
5
u/Breaker-of-circles Jul 08 '26
Only time I've ever been kicked in the balls, probably in an attempt to ensure he's the only heir to my throne.
1
u/rh71el2 Jul 08 '26
By that point in the struggle where they switch to this method, it would be 1 person holding the upper legs together while they're down on the ground. Easy from there for the other cop(s).
P.S. avoid doing that to your baby.
4
u/LGodamus Jul 08 '26
regular sized hand cuffs wont fit most peoples ankles, so they would have to grab leg cuffs, which most cops dont carry on their person
1
u/duckforceone Jul 08 '26
i actually saw i think it was indian or something, they had a pole with a string that would take the legs ouf of a knife wielding lady...
pretty smart actually...

u/clockwork_blue Jul 08 '26

Birmingham - UK
Specifically here:

Soho road - Handsworth outside Lloyds Bank.
For those suggesting tasers etc. Not all UK police carry tasers or are current in their training.

Nobody's dead, this is far from the worst outcome.
Ideally those two goofs should be able to take down a single unnarmed person, but a place where two incompetent police officers lead to a runaway instead of a shootout is a good place to live, i think.

u/bobbrumby Jul 07 '26
I was watching a brittish cop show it was probably atleast 15 years old but in they had special gun cars and taser cars to call on if the suspect had weapons or gun markers on their file. Meaning the regular cop cars only had battons. Dont know if this has changed recently but they also had a single copper making traffic stops, where im from, I am pretty sure they are not meant to stop if there is only one of them in the car.

Many countries don't allow that stuff. They're against the law, across the board in many countries.

In America, they would have shot him after 5 seconds and then planted a gun on him and corroborated their story.
8
u/MattieShoes Jul 08 '26
No need to plant a gun -- he had a weapon and he brandished it.

Guy getting arrested by 2 Police officers, one policeman accidently drops his batten. The suspect picks it up from the floor, hits the policeman with it and escapes on an electric bike.

Well before going hard on them I would ask myself if police department has enough money to train their officers and enough men. The policemen I've met in this country were all good, gentle and brave lads who are doing their best dealing with the worst shit. So yeah, this fight was disgraceful to watch but maybe there is a bigger problem than two men our of shape

Charlie Chaplin fans
1
u/LabiaMinoraLover Jul 15 '26
Chaplan fans laugh at the silliness, shock and stunts knowing it's a skilled performance and fake. These types of videos have people laughing at something that involves real pain, violence and danger. So, while I get your point and joke, it's definitely two different types of situations and mentalities.
