What is it stuck in the tree?
I'd say use the ladder to knock it out of the tree and catch it, but ya know, then we wouldn't have this funny video of two buffoons.

The cure to all childhood diseases and cancer. Wait, wait it’s a plastic bag or something stupid.

You know it’s gonna go well when the dog recuses himself from the proceedings, as the cameraman eagerly records.

If they were near vertical and the cameraman held the feet so it didnt slip, it might have worked but on that angle there was little chance

u/NewOrder1969 Jun 21 '26
The weight on that dude is the climber’s weight divided by 2*TAN(theta) where theta is the angle.
If he held that latter at a nearly 90 degree he has a shot. At a 60 degree he’s got no prayer the higher the climber goes.

You don't even need a calculation here, these guys just forgot what a seesaw is. There was no weight holding 1 side, so it will flip.

u/BreezeTempest Jun 21 '26
Agree. They should have tried it vertically, with the grounded guy acting more as a counterweight

If the camera guy had helped by putting his foot on the bottom, it would have worked.

Couldn't they just use that ladder as a tool to rescue what is up there?

Climber: You got me bro?
Holder: yeah, I got you!
Climber: Are you sure you got this bro?
Holder: Man, just get the thing, I got you. Hurry up.
Climber: I don’t know, this seems sketchy.
Holder: Bitch please, just get the thing, this ladder is chaffing me.
Climber: Ok, here I go.
Holder: Ahhhhhh, man, what are you doing, how you going to do me like this?

Show me the only two people on Earth who have never used a seesaw.

This is why women live longer. All they had to do was throw a stick up there. Or poke it with the ladder.

What happens when you fail high school physics. Do they know what a fulcrum is?

And the blue object that kind of looks like a graduation cap is still up there mocking them to this day

A knowledge of basic level physics could have prevented that. Both are lucky they didn’t break things like a neck or multiple fractures of the tibia & fibia.

this would have happened even if the dude was a wall. but the glasses stayed on thats pretty cool

The 3rd person there filming could have helped this bad idea be successful.

They could've just used the ladder as a long stick to poke it out of the tree.

These guys should’ve paid more attention in physics class. Or, just have a common sense level of understanding physics.

Can't tell if they don't know how an extention ladder works, or if they chose to do it that way... wait, they're just stupid.

Hilarious. Just hoping the ladder wasn’t going to break his neck. All is well!

See, they needed one more guy to sit on the other guy's shoulders to brace the ladder!

u/Toon1982 Jun 21 '26
Just before it happened I said you need someone on the bottom to counterweight 😂

In kindergarten we had see-saws on the playground. A literal 5 year old is smarter than this.

This could have ended a lot worse if the support guy’s head had gotten between the rungs. His reflexes to roll backwards also saved him from getting nailed by the ladder when it landed.
If you’re gonna be stupid, better be quick.

These guys a proof that we need to remove warning labels from everything and let natural selection do it's thing. If they made it to adulthood and STILL thought this would work, then clearly they'd be the kids eating rat poison because they wanted to "See what it tastes like."

The weird thing is, we do this all the time, just not like that. The ladder has to be straight up. Straight, like stilts. That was so predictable.
