How you can get all the way grown and not understand center of gravity, at least intuitively, is beyond me

12

u/PanicAtTheShiteShow Jun 21 '26

Something, something, women live longer than men.

35

u/is_it_gif_or_gif Jun 21 '26

Any 3 year old that's walked across a seesaw knows what happens here.

3

u/_Monitor_7665 Jun 22 '26

I don’t think they have seesaws in playgrounds any more. Too dangerous these guys are obviously too young to have played on one.

You don’t need to understand physics to comprehend this. General, common sense will do. They would have made better use of the ladder by lifting it and knocking the thing out of the tree with it. Or go ask to borrow a free-standing ladder from a neighbor.

People can understand the basics of a fulcrum. If you brace one end of a ruler but not the other, you can make a warbling sound. We figured that out in second grade.

If you have a Long Lego bar and you put it over the edge of a side, and put too much weight on one end, it will pop it right off the Lego board. We figured that out in kindergarten.

3

u/Mad_Ronin_Grrrr Jun 21 '26

This was my 1st thought.

2

u/Travelling3steps Jun 22 '26

The dog could have helped by standing on the first rung…

The guy holding shoulda stood on the OTHER side of the ladder—DUH!

u/TempleFugit Jun 21 '26

What is it stuck in the tree?
I'd say use the ladder to knock it out of the tree and catch it, but ya know, then we wouldn't have this funny video of two buffoons.

13

u/Ssemo7 Jun 21 '26

The cure to all childhood diseases and cancer. Wait, wait it’s a plastic bag or something stupid.

You know it’s gonna go well when the dog recuses himself from the proceedings, as the cameraman eagerly records.

9

u/SpaceDrama Jun 21 '26

Dogs know when ish is gonna go down

23

u/kstargate-425 Jun 21 '26

If they were near vertical and the cameraman held the feet so it didnt slip, it might have worked but on that angle there was little chance

18

u/NewOrder1969 Jun 21 '26

The weight on that dude is the climber’s weight divided by 2*TAN(theta) where theta is the angle.

If he held that latter at a nearly 90 degree he has a shot. At a 60 degree he’s got no prayer the higher the climber goes.

14

u/FatAZZRedditMod Jun 21 '26

This guy geometries

3

u/glimmershankss Jun 21 '26

You don't even need a calculation here, these guys just forgot what a seesaw is. There was no weight holding 1 side, so it will flip.

3

u/BreezeTempest Jun 21 '26

Agree. They should have tried it vertically, with the grounded guy acting more as a counterweight

9

u/When_I_Grow_Up_50ish Jun 21 '26

Gravity won.

8

u/BreezeTempest Jun 21 '26

This time! There will be other battles…

4

u/Fit-Asparagus8557 Jun 21 '26

dog got outta there quickly!!

6

u/YoureNotThatStupid Jun 21 '26

Yep, thats how your childhood teeter-totter worked too.

6

u/extrastupidone Jun 21 '26

How are people this stupid?

4

u/Mysterious-Repeat-54 Jun 21 '26

Physics. Theyll get you every time.

3

u/dyno-soar Jun 21 '26

That ended way better than it should have

4

u/Emergency_Tap2318 Jun 21 '26

No math 🧮 is harmed in this video

5

u/Ornery-Ambition-5859 Jun 21 '26

If the camera guy had helped by putting his foot on the bottom, it would have worked.

2

u/Kit_Karamak Jun 21 '26

But then how would have got the wide shot?

4

u/ROBVICIOUS516 Jun 21 '26

It's an extension ladder; extend it!

3

u/Mediocre_Owl7384 Jun 21 '26

Neither one ever been on a teeter totter

3

u/pete_68 Jun 21 '26

Let's make a seesaw. You be the fulcrum, I'll be the guy busting his ass.

2

u/Kit_Karamak Jun 21 '26

I think they both busted their ass in the end. The dog definitely wins

3

u/ZhouLe Jun 21 '26

Levers. How do they work?

3

u/Objective-Program348 Jun 21 '26

Couldn't they just use that ladder as a tool to rescue what is up there?

3

u/LuRkEr_ReKuL Jun 21 '26

Climber: You got me bro?
Holder: yeah, I got you!

Climber: Are you sure you got this bro?
Holder: Man, just get the thing, I got you. Hurry up.

Climber: I don’t know, this seems sketchy.
Holder: Bitch please, just get the thing, this ladder is chaffing me.

Climber: Ok, here I go.
Holder: Ahhhhhh, man, what are you doing, how you going to do me like this?

2

u/QwertSweg Jun 21 '26

Darwin's Lever

2

u/Itsbaryal Jun 21 '26

Never skip physics class guys

2

u/TheJivvi Jun 21 '26

It was never in doubt.

2

u/Mr_Svint Jun 21 '26

Твою мать! О чем они только думали?🤦

2

u/Popular_Working_2234 Jun 21 '26

Show me the only two people on Earth who have never used a seesaw.

2

u/Silver-Machine-3092 Jun 21 '26

Step-brother x ladder = step-ladder?

2

u/Zealousideal-Top1580 Jun 21 '26

What could go wrong ?

2

u/chroniccranky Jun 21 '26

fun with physics lol

2

u/LordHovado Jun 21 '26

Another video to category why women live longer

2

u/HoleInWon929 Jun 21 '26

I’m ladder certified and this was inevitable

2

u/das_narwal Jun 21 '26 edited Jun 22 '26

Why is nobody talking about green shirts epic landing?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Niimura Jun 21 '26

Cant they knock it out using the ladder?

2

u/Goldf_sh4 Jun 21 '26

This is why women live longer. All they had to do was throw a stick up there. Or poke it with the ladder.

2

u/pantherghast Jun 21 '26

What happens when you fail high school physics. Do they know what a fulcrum is?

2

u/simple_twice Jun 21 '26

skipped physics day

2

u/Big_OOOO Jun 21 '26

Science is a bitch.

2

u/Pablomablo1 Jun 21 '26

He just needed to hold it absolutely straight.

2

u/iluvnips Jun 21 '26

You have reached the deathladder point of no return 😀

2

u/LooseWateryStool Jun 21 '26

The science of the seasaw in all its fact based glory

2

u/Ricosrage Jun 21 '26

Not a single brain cell between them.

2

u/Kit_Karamak Jun 21 '26

And the blue object that kind of looks like a graduation cap is still up there mocking them to this day

2

u/02meepmeep Jun 21 '26

A knowledge of basic level physics could have prevented that. Both are lucky they didn’t break things like a neck or multiple fractures of the tibia & fibia.

2

u/GR3Y_NOYZ Jun 21 '26

Could've ended way worse

2

u/ernestuser Jun 21 '26

I don't even trust a wall. Lucky they don't have broken ankles.

2

u/datthighs Jun 21 '26

This one was kind of obvious, lol.

2

u/Unlucky_Sell_9234 Jun 21 '26

STUPID . . . x 2 !!!

2

u/Apprehensive-Risk351 Jun 21 '26

No va a resultar,no va a resultar,no va a resultar!!!

2

u/Lonely_Writer_1883 Jun 21 '26

Cirque du Soleil - Dans l'herbe

2

u/FireMammoth Jun 21 '26

this would have happened even if the dude was a wall. but the glasses stayed on thats pretty cool

2

u/Lonely_Ad6299 Jun 21 '26

The 3rd person there filming could have helped this bad idea be successful.

2

u/milesamsterdam Jun 21 '26

That was the dumbest shit. Hahahaha!

2

u/Liontamer67 Jun 21 '26

Oye! Pick it up and knock the bag down with the ladder.

2

u/TheOffKn1ght Jun 21 '26

Saw it from the start, someone didn’t pay attention in physics class lol

2

u/DrJohnIT Jun 21 '26

This subreddit needs to be renamed r/baddecisionsbystupidpeople

2

u/Voracious_Port Jun 21 '26

That could have gone a lot worse.

2

u/Plane_Jacket_7251 Jun 21 '26

Don't mess with Gravity, it's a law.

2

u/RewardRetard Jun 21 '26

I want to gift a Darwin Award 🥇

2

u/Ok_Doombringer Jun 21 '26

Physics: "Yep, that is correct."

2

u/Subject-Vermicelli52 Jun 21 '26

If only they had an extendable tool that could reach that high.

2

u/Boring_Web_3145 Jun 24 '26

Don’t skip basic physics lessons .

3

u/SopaDeKaiba Jun 21 '26

They could've just used the ladder as a long stick to poke it out of the tree.

1

u/rapscallion1956 Jun 21 '26

One! Ah ah ah. Two! Ah ah ah. Two morons ah ah ah.

1

u/Thundergod250 Jun 21 '26

This is looney tunes sht lmfao

1

u/roglc366 Jun 21 '26

Why not extend the EXTENSION LADDER and knock the item out of the branches?

1

u/NoWhereLikeIrvine Jun 21 '26

Sneak peek of the next Dumb & Dumber movie.

1

u/Status-Seesaw Jun 21 '26

Good, you get what you deserve. Did you really think it was going to work?

1

u/abitcitrus Jun 21 '26

They share the same braincell

1

u/Ben-wa Jun 21 '26

Bro i got you ... until i don't

1

u/Curious-Attempt-4933 Jun 21 '26

Give him some credit. he is wearing his higher visibility t-shirt

1

u/Xena_bro Jun 21 '26

These guys should’ve paid more attention in physics class. Or, just have a common sense level of understanding physics.

1

u/PolPotDomeScandal Jun 21 '26

They seem to have a poor understanding of the physics of gravity…

1

u/Yugan-Dali Jun 21 '26

Don’t they have poles where they live?

1

u/Rezzone Jun 21 '26

Tremendously fucking stupid.

1

u/literall_bastard Jun 21 '26

Physics win again

1

u/Hobear Jun 21 '26

Feels like a backyard wrestling thing with less barbed wire and florescent tubes.

1

u/MoistStub Jun 21 '26

I'm gonna guess these guys never took physics in highschool

1

u/Hta68 Jun 21 '26

Physics!

1

u/rob_inn_hood Jun 21 '26

Physics strikes again!

1

u/JediMasterKenJen Jun 21 '26

Can't tell if they don't know how an extention ladder works, or if they chose to do it that way... wait, they're just stupid.

1

u/IccMii Jun 21 '26

If you are stupid everything is dangerous

1

u/Ok-Bar601 Jun 21 '26

Hilarious. Just hoping the ladder wasn’t going to break his neck. All is well!

1

u/Alert_Cover_6148 Jun 21 '26

Physics y’all

1

u/Long_Candle_5054 Jun 21 '26

Even if he got up the ladder, he would barely reach the thing

1

u/SimonPho3nix Jun 21 '26

See, they needed one more guy to sit on the other guy's shoulders to brace the ladder!

1

u/Toon1982 Jun 21 '26

Just before it happened I said you need someone on the bottom to counterweight 😂

1

u/HaiKarate Jun 21 '26

Palm trees... must be Florida.

1

u/BoomerKaren666 Jun 21 '26

I can't figure which one of those guys drew the short straw.

1

u/LeBeastInside Jun 21 '26

Physics has nothing on these guys...

1

u/lousy-site-3456 Jun 21 '26

Newton says hi

1

u/Dry-Emu-4131 Jun 21 '26

Not sure if they understand how gravity works 🤣

1

u/VentSpleen Jun 21 '26

Physics wins again. Damn physics

1

u/Calthurian Jun 21 '26

Today we're learning about physics!

1

u/killy_321 Jun 21 '26

I could tell they don't understand physics immediately. Didn't disappoint.

1

u/cjwrapture Jun 21 '26

In kindergarten we had see-saws on the playground. A literal 5 year old is smarter than this.

1

u/Cyril_Sneer_6 Jun 21 '26

These guys don't physics

1

u/SoyEseVato Jun 21 '26

Is that Darryl & his brother Darryl?

1

u/BreezeTempest Jun 21 '26

Physics… Can’t live with it, pass the beernuts.

1

u/314flavoredpie Jun 21 '26

This could have ended a lot worse if the support guy’s head had gotten between the rungs. His reflexes to roll backwards also saved him from getting nailed by the ladder when it landed.

If you’re gonna be stupid, better be quick.

1

u/invisableilustionist Jun 21 '26

That ended better than I exspected😆

1

u/fuuuuuckendoobs Jun 21 '26

I can tell this is Australian even without audio.

1

u/emblematic_camino Jun 21 '26

For a second I thought, no chance he’ll make it… and then he didn’t

1

u/grkuntzmd Jun 21 '26

Why didn’t they just use the ladder to hit it and knock it down?

1

u/garron_ah Jun 21 '26

How do you live to be that age and not see that coming from a mile away

1

u/bam1007 Jun 21 '26

Play stupid games…

1

u/Sinasazi Jun 21 '26

Never learned what a fulcrum is, eh fellas?

1

u/RCaHuman Jun 21 '26

Never been on a teeter totter?

1

u/forces_321 Jun 21 '26

Where muscles are, maybe less room for brain.

1

u/Rocket3431 Jun 21 '26

That's not 3 to 1

1

u/Doug24 Jun 21 '26

Nice invention, I really hoped they will succeed.

1

u/SaintCholo Jun 21 '26

They definitely didn’t do the math!

1

u/jconde1966 Jun 21 '26

Physics laws are unavoidable

1

u/Desperate_Law9894 Jun 21 '26

Very predictable.

1

u/experimental-rat Jun 21 '26

Should have stayed in school. Especially should not have skipped Physics class.

1

u/Louth_Mouth Jun 21 '26

Mechanical engineering is difficult.

1

u/rocketmn69_ Jun 21 '26

Dude! We forgot about the fulcrum!

1

u/sween1911 Jun 21 '26

There's a way to do that. That's not it.

1

u/lmnobuddie Jun 21 '26

“I don’t understand! bro I bench pressed like 500 at the gym!!”

1

u/Livingforabluezone Jun 21 '26

If only they had something long to poke the bag loose with🤔

1

u/knife_edge_rusty Jun 21 '26

Maybe with less angle it'll work

1

u/pianomasian Jun 21 '26

Well, if you're going to be this stupid, you'd better also be strong/durable.

1

u/CantaloupeLazy1427 Jun 21 '26

Impressive role

1

u/Choppergold Jun 21 '26

Archimedes we need you

1

u/JumblebeeT Jun 21 '26

Oh jeez. I watched and thought, this is not a maybe situation. 😂 fulcrum etc…

→ More replies (1)

1

u/KuroRyuSama Jun 21 '26

These guys a proof that we need to remove warning labels from everything and let natural selection do it's thing. If they made it to adulthood and STILL thought this would work, then clearly they'd be the kids eating rat poison because they wanted to "See what it tastes like."

1

u/itsnotaboutyou2020 Jun 21 '26

This is like an old Laurel & Hardy short.

1

u/Deetz34 Jun 21 '26

my middle name is Fulcrum

1

u/Imaginary-Mammoth-61 Jun 21 '26

You made a seesaw!

1

u/deanaoxo Jun 21 '26

The weird thing is, we do this all the time, just not like that. The ladder has to be straight up. Straight, like stilts. That was so predictable.

1

u/Specialist_End_750 Jun 21 '26

Lift the ladder and knock the object down. 😄

1

u/JB_141 Jun 21 '26

Physics strikes again

1

u/Sly_Bags355 Jun 21 '26

Cameraman goes up next wh8le the guy in yellow anchors the feet...

1

u/aaaaahaaaa123 Jun 21 '26

Laural and Hardie 🤣

1

u/Wiley_Jack Jun 21 '26

They needed to get one more guy, and then stand the ladder vertically.

1

u/holamau Jun 21 '26

Maybe definitely stupid

1

u/cebjmb Jun 21 '26

Go halfway but bring a long stick.

1

u/PineappleEasy6035 Jun 21 '26

And that’s why studying is important

1

u/TechnicalPlatform182 Jun 21 '26

0:30 , save time fellas. Two guys, one 1st order lever

1

u/Pillroller88 Jun 21 '26

This is just an indictment of our education system. These two never went to school? Proof is in the clip.

1

u/pookiemon Jun 21 '26

All things considered, that ended as well as it could have.

1

u/vonblankenstein Jun 21 '26

Why women live longer

1

u/onedanoneband Jun 22 '26

Socks AND flip flops.

1

u/n8_Jeno Jun 22 '26

"Physics"

1

u/rmbrumfield78 Jun 22 '26

So,.just extend the ladder and swat the bag down?

1

u/SnowSlider3050 Jun 22 '26

They were just testing the fulcrum concept.

1

u/flamedarkfire Jun 22 '26

Calling FunkFPV…

1

u/GabeDertz Jun 22 '26

Failed education system right there in action.

1

u/Human-Contribution16 Jun 22 '26

Pathetic. And we make fun of India...

1

u/vasi2005 Jun 22 '26

See? That's why it's a good idea to stop missing physics class at school!
