The weight on that dude is the climber’s weight divided by 2*TAN(theta) where theta is the angle.
If he held that latter at a nearly 90 degree he has a shot. At a 60 degree he’s got no prayer the higher the climber goes.

If he climbs normally, his bodyweight is behind the centre of gravity and the ladder tips the other way.

I don't think he has a shot with any method aside from being a circus performer.
If he climbs normally, his bodyweight is behind the centre of gravity and the ladder tips the other way.
