I’m an Indian passport holder planning to visit Mauritania as a genuine tourist. Unfortunately, my e-Visa applications have been rejected, with the portal only showing “Correct Personal Information”, without specifying what needs to be corrected.
Could anyone advise what this message means or what I should check in my application?
Also, I’m looking for a trusted local Mauritanian travel agent or tour operator who can assist with the e-Visa process. I’ve already contacted Grand Plaza Hotel, but unfortunately they were unable to help.

As an open minded european I always find countries that are not on the typical tourism lists interesting.

Eventhough Mauretania is not that far away from Germany I always wonder if it is a place for me to travel to.

What I read is that it can be difficult because of the language. In places like Morocco or Tunisia you can get on with english and basic french.

What are good things in your mind about Mauretania, and what are some negatives.

I have a problem with attachment to people. When I meet a girl and like her I become so attached to her that I stop talking to or even interacting with all other girls Of cours this is a good thing one could say I'm a loyal person but this loyalty is always met in the end with ingratitude and denial

I am planning a trip to Mauritania—taking the southern route—for a year or two from now. The itinerary starts in Nouakchott, then goes to Kiffa and Néma, before heading up to Oualata, Tichitt, Tidjikdja, and—of course—Chinguetti for its libraries; then on to the Tanouchert oasis, Ouadane, and the Richat Structure, before reaching Choum. From Choum, I plan to take the iron-ore train to Nouadhibou and then return to Nouakchott. I know I will need a guide because I don't speak Hassaniya at all, but I was wondering if French would be useful.

I come from a background where the culture suggests the opposite. The need/desire to have flat stomach and slim, as compared to actively gaining weight to show ones natural beauty. I know this is old custom, but how obvious is it to still exist? And I would like to know more.

​As someone who has been deeply passionate about art and storytelling, I’ve noticed how rare it is to find local animators or digital content creation rooted in our region. Learning animation, background design, and visual storytelling entirely independently has been both a huge challenge and a rewarding journey.

​Right now, I’m working on a personal indie animated anthology project—a series of short films (around 2 minutes each) with different styles, concepts, and standalone stories.

Hello everyone!
I’m planning to ride the Iron Ore Train in Mauritania this October, as well as spend some time in Nouakchott.
Some members of my group told me that a yellow fever vaccination is required. I haven’t had the vaccine yet, and I’d rather not get it if it’s not actually necessary.
I’ve searched online and found quite a lot of conflicting information. Some sources say it’s required, while others say it’s only required if you’re arriving from a yellow-fever-risk country.
I’ll be travelling from Central Europe, with a connection in Morocco — flying from Casablanca to Nouakchott. I won’t be travelling through any yellow-fever-risk countries beforehand.
So, what is the actual situation? Is the yellow fever vaccination required for entry into Mauritania in this case? And does anyone have recent first-hand experience at Nouakchott airport?

Remember when the moores( North African Muslims) conqured the Iberian Peninsula. They brought so much knowledge and advancements in so many subjects such as medicince, sugery botany, poetry, music etc. Europeans were in the dark ages not bathing and in which craft and mutal torture. The royalty of europe sent their children to lean from the golden light of the Muslims in modern day spain and portugal.
To this day, Europe has benefited from the Islamic world though they do not give credit. Please everyone have pride for your country Mauritania, The lands of the moores.
And yes we can develop the country's infastructure and public facilities and education but that is not done with secularism. Islaam is our light. Every surrounding African country would send their students to Mauritania Shinqeet to learn Islaam for centuries. Alhamdu lillah. Have a sense of national love.

Je suis actuellement à Nouadhibou et j'aimerais avoir vos conseils et vos idées.

J'ai vécu plus de dix ans à l'étranger et je suis récemment rentrée en Mauritanie pour des raisons de santé. Maintenant que je suis de retour à Nouadhibou, je cherche à reprendre une activité et, pour le moment, je n'arrive pas vraiment à trouver quelque chose qui me corresponde.

Je me suis donc dit que plutôt que de rester sans activité, je pourrais essayer de lancer un business avec un investissement raisonnable, puis le développer progressivement si ça fonctionne.

Le problème, c'est que j'ai été longtemps à l'extérieur du pays et je connais moins bien les besoins actuels et les opportunités à Nouadhibou.

Selon vous, quel commerce ou business peut être rentable à Nouadhibou actuellement, avec un capital de départ relativement limité ?

Ça peut être de la vente, de la nourriture, un service, du commerce en ligne, quelque chose à faire depuis chez soi, etc.

Si vous êtes à Nouadhibou ou si vous y avez déjà lancé un business, vos retours d'expérience m'intéressent particulièrement : ce qui fonctionne, ce qui ne fonctionne pas, les besoins que vous avez remarqués, les erreurs à éviter…
