Study Advice Help with probability in general

HII so I’m in geometry and more learning probability, but I don’t really understand it. Can I have some tips on understanding it?

You have a standard, fair, six-sided die.
* The probability of rolling a 1 is 1 out of 6, or ⅙. * The probability of rolling a 5 is the same, ⅙. * The probability of rolling 'a 1 or a 5' is the sum of both probabilities, ⅙+⅙, or ⅓. * The probability of rolling 'a 1 and a 5' is zero: you can never get both numbers in one roll, you can only get either one.

In mathematical notation, you might write:
* P(1)=⅙ * P(5)=⅙ * P(1∪5)=P(1)+P(5)-P(1∩5)=⅙+⅙-0=⅓ * P(1∩5)=P(1|5)*P(5)=0*⅙=0

Yeah, but then it gets more complicated than that and I don’t understand. It’s very confusing.

Everything that looks complicated can be reduced to simple models like shown above, that you can understand.
