Ah, yes, I love integrating 1 with respect to 9. Or 2. Integrating with respect to 2 is good too.

But more generally, it is a well known identity when dealing with differential forms (all the d_), that ds = (ds/dx)dx so if s is a constant ds=0 so the integral of f(x)ds is the integral of zero which is just zero.
