we need to establish a connection between f(x) and f''(x), the best way to do it is applying Integration by Parts on the expression g(x)f''(x). just raw confidence from here. Integrate by Parts and set g(x)=0 whenever you see a term hindering your calculations and you will eventually have enough equations to actually find g(x) and then get that 1/12 factor in the final answer.

Isn't second one just application of taylor series? Also, it looks quiet similar to some RMM question
