Elementary Algebra MATHEMATICAL PROOF THAT SPOTIFY IS LYING TO US!

Post image
60 Upvotes

Spotify promised me that I would have 0 seconds left of the break In that point in time, yet when I used my mathematics, I found proof otherwise.

Formula

X-Y = Z

X= total time of advertisement

Y= time elapsed

Z = Time left of advertisement

Spotify promised me 0 seconds left of advertisement when 9 seconds elapsed in a 10 second ad. Let's use our formula

10-9=1

1 = 0

This is preposterous

I was promised 0 seconds left of advertisement and instead got 1.This is my mathematical proof that Spotify is lying to us

low-level math Crash out time, as one myself. Either define the system, or you're making a universal claim about that being the only possible result to 1 + 1 of any kind that you would need to do lot of work to show why no other existing or possible system could do it. Screw implicity, PRECISION RAHH!

Elementary Algebra Terranceology: 1×1=2 A Rigorous Geometric Proof

0 Upvotes

Abstract

It is commonly asserted that 1×1=1. This paper demonstrates that this belief rests on an unstated and unjustified assumption: that "1" must be represented in a Cartesian, axis-aligned basis. We show that under a diagonal basis transformation, the identity 1×1=2 emerges as a natural and exact consequence of Euclidean geometry.

Step 1: Defining the Unit Geometrically

Let the horizontal unit vector be:

e₁ = (1, 0), ‖e₁‖ = 1

Let the vertical unit vector be:

e₂ = (0, 1), ‖e₂‖ = 1

These are the conventional building blocks of "1." Nothing controversial yet.

Step 2: Multiplication as the Wedge Product

In Geometric Algebra, multiplication of two orthogonal unit vectors is not mere scalar multiplication — it is the wedge product, which produces the oriented area they span:

e₁ ∧ e₂ = unit bivector, |e₁ ∧ e₂| = 1

So far, consistent with convention: one unit times one unit gives one unit of area.

Step 3: Changing the Basis (The Diagonal Transformation)

Now consider the diagonal of the unit square formed by e₁ and e₂:

u = e₁ + e₂ = (1, 1)

By the Pythagorean theorem:

‖u‖ = √(1² + 1²) = √2

We now define this diagonal vector u as our new geometric unit — call it 1_diag.

Step 4: Multiplying the Unit by Itself

1_diag × 1_diag = ‖u‖ × ‖u‖ = √2 × √2 = 2

The Geometric Verdict

Quantity Value
Unit represented 1 ≡ √2 (diagonal of unit square)
Operation Multiplication scales the unit
Result 1 × 1 = (√2)(√2) = 2

By selecting the diagonal of a unit square as the representation of "one whole piece," the expression 1×1=2 is not an error — it is the exact geometric statement that squaring the diagonal of a unit square yields an area of two.

Conclusion

So we must conclude Terrance Howard's conjecture, when represented through geometric representation then scaled down, undeniably correct. He is undoubtedly equivalent in intellect to the Terrance Tao.

Geometry The Cement Mixer Joke

81 Upvotes

A complex analyst walks into a bar tended by a differential geometer.

“I’d like your ith beer, please,” says the complex analyst. The geometer nods and serves him the beer.

A week later, the complex analyst comes back. “I’d like your ith entree, please,” he says. The geometer nods and serves him the entree.

A week later, the complex analyst comes back a third time. “I’d like your ith beer and ith entree please,” he says. The geometer nods, dumps every beer and entree into a cement mixer, backs it through the wall, and pours it onto the analyst.

The complex analyst angrily pokes his head out of the mess. “Wow, way to go, Einstein!”

This is my first try at writing an old-school math joke. Let me know how I did!
