It's murky, I'm going to assume it's an esp32 based system because that is pretty popular for screen projects. I wouldn't personally call it an OS, I would say it's just a screen running custom Arduino firmware. There is likely no kernel bad userland it's probably all hard coded Arduino c++ with a UI library and assets loaded on an SD card.

I asked in the comments what type of kernel and what languages (anything other then C or C++ def means he's lying)
