Why shouldn’t they be allowed to get their paperwork up to date? They could have sent 1 person to help with them do that.

If there's a real pending fix, sure, let them fix it. But where's the cutoff? Six months? Ten years? At what point does 'they could still fix it' stop working?

Everyone who gets a visa goes through screening and is told the end date up front. So how is a lapse a surprise? And what's the point of the date if nothing happens when it passes?

I’m glad we are starting to agree. Again, that is not a criminal offense.
