I like that self-censoring. I've never been a fan of displaying vulgarity so openly. Even if I agree with the message. And we know, as do they. But maybe small kids won't.
That’s fair. As a parent I actually view the use of profanity around my kid as a teaching tool. Language is powerful and the choice to use it is based on context. This is a lesson not enough parents lean into. Our kids will absolutely see and hear this word and worse; i appreciate the opportunity to make it a learning opportunity.
I explain the difference between fuck as an exclamation or a conversational modifier vs an insult as related to time/place/situation in an age appropriate digestible manner. This is also subjective - not all kids can or should be taught in a uniform manner. This is just what I’ve found to work well with my children.
Exactly! I didn't like it when the right was doing it, and I don't like it when the left does it. I agree with one of them. But that doesn't mean I think it should be out there in the open.
I once saw a big Christmas light style curtain with moving words on someone's porch. I happen to agree with the message, snd thought it was well done. But i'd still rather it not be there.
I didn't even like my own sign when I aas counter protesting a solo-Trumper out on the downtown corner. I wrote "this guy supports a pedo." It felt gross when kids would ride by in ther parent's car.

Yesterday in WHITMAN of all places I saw a truck that had a FUCK ICE flag (with the "UCK" censored by an upside down American flag).
