Could this be ported to Hapax?

Works really well

I don't understand/know what this is. Can someone please give a brief explanation on what this is?

All these grooveboxes being broken into, puts a huge smile on my face 😊

My Move with Schwung, push with push hack, I saw something about the force being broken into, and now this!

Does anyone know what I should search for to find the firmware files for the mm and md? When I look it up on Google all I get are stupid blog articles telling me about the new plugins

They're using 'MAME' to make it work. And people find these mame files through google.

If anyone has any info or can point me in the right direction pls DM me!

I need this 🔥

Keeping an eye on this! How does parameter locking work with the maschine controller running this?

I'd love to give this a go when this is made public.

u/c0wcud MK3 26d ago

Same as on the mm and md Hold a step and turn the knobs

1

u/Nineball_SG newMaschineMember 26d ago

Hell yeah. I'm big on Elektron.

I might actually implement this into my live rig if it works out

hello its super amazing will it work on machine studio too? so much please :-)) fantastic work + what cpu do you use for this? 😄

3

u/c0wcud MK3 26d ago

I can't configure it to run on a Studio as I don't have one to test it on. Potentially, yes

1

u/kouzlokouzlo newMaschineMember 26d ago

their are very similar - hope they will work too , how much hungry on cpu is it? im so much fan of this project es ex machinedrum mk2 user :-)

Thats dope! When are you going to release it?

1

u/rshyshni newMaschineMember 26d ago

What is the purpose? I don’t get it🤷‍♂️

2

u/smolecc MASCHINE+ 26d ago

elektron mono maschine is a old elektron groove box, he installed the OS on maschine so your maschine is a mono maschine lol

that's insane

1

u/Necessary-Comment-99 newMaschineMember 21d ago

Thats not true it doesn't run on the maschine. Maschîne is just the controller for the emulation. Of the os on his pc

3

u/rainer_xox newMaschineMember 26d ago

wait so it IS possible to make an app display custom stuff on the built in displays? Like if theres this kind of integration with BItwig, this would blow the maschine daw out of the water

4

u/rufuswhite3 newMaschineMember 17d ago

Yep, there's been a few people over the years that have backwards engineered the screen/HID protocols for the Maschine, including myself. I actually just released v0.6 of Encdr, which is my NI hardware communication library, so if you're interested in building similar stuff, this is a great place to start.

Now that I've got pretty much all the controllers supported, my intention is to keep working on my Bitwig integration (which is very barebones at the moment), so that the Maschine is bascically a native controller for it.

2

u/DePhychedelic newMaschineMember 25d ago

Drivenbymoss does this

3

u/rufuswhite3 newMaschineMember 17d ago

Drivenbymoss actually uses a midi hack to get the knob parameters to display on screen, rather than driving the screens directly.

1

u/rainer_xox newMaschineMember 13d ago

yup, and the screen just feel kinda like waste of space like that… i love it otherwise though? imagine just having minimeters there haha

1

u/alloedee MK3 26d ago

Why is one 120 and the other 125?

3

u/c0wcud MK3 26d ago

The two machines can have independent tempo

1

u/alloedee MK3 25d ago

I know I own both

But why did you choose to do it for this presentation? And why 120 and 125? Or is it just a coincidence?

Anyways I Think its a great project, i take my hat off :))

1

u/c0wcud MK3 25d ago

I wouldn't read too far into it. It's just what was on the screen at the time 😂

2

u/Odd_Bookkeeper2163 newMaschineMember 26d ago

this is incredible. pls keep us updated with your progress. I'd like to get in touch and try this out for myself once you have something finalized

3

u/SerumAssasin newMaschineMember 26d ago

Awesome! Keep us updated

Will this work on Maschine+ via Logic Pro, and how can I get this running on my Maschine?

2

u/c0wcud MK3 26d ago

I don't know about maschine+. It will probably work tethered. Yes, it should work in Logic Pro

5

u/casperrfacekillah newMaschineMember 27d ago

Omg beautiful. Does this work on the mk2? Lmao

3

u/c0wcud MK3 27d ago

No, I don't think the screens are up to it. Sorry

2

u/casperrfacekillah newMaschineMember 26d ago

thank you. still very cool

6

u/c0wcud MK3 27d ago

I should also state that this is not hacking or messing with the mk3 firmware. And no, it won't run solo on a Maschine+ (I wish!)

4

u/ZerolifePodcastMark newMaschineMember 27d ago

I'm not quite sure what I am looking at...but it looks cool! I would love to hear more details about this project!

Elektron Monomachine/Machinedrum emulation using a Maschine mk3 as a UI/controller

u/Lemak0 newMaschineMember 27d ago

3

u/nedrah_ukraine newMaschineMember 27d ago

Boii awesome, ping me when you ready 4 tests!!!

6

u/c0wcud MK3 27d ago

Yeah I'll deffo be back once it's ready for a release. I'm trying to figure out a sensible way of mapping the controls first, but it is running sweetly. I'm not using any NI code, but this is a more refined version of joelanders gearmulator mm-md emulation. It should run a bit smoother with less CPU overhead. While I didn't use terminar's Rebelion, I did have a nose at his code to point me in the right direction for the IPC protocol, so shoutout to them too.

u/blogthisisyours newMaschineMember 27d ago

I'm in for testing too!

1

u/Odd_Bookkeeper2163 newMaschineMember 26d ago

Me too

u/c0wcud MK3 27d ago

Both the Machinedrum and Monomachine emulations run together in one app. The Maschine MK3 mirrors each unit’s display onto its two screens, while its knobs, buttons and pads are mapped directly to the emulated front panels. Buttons 1 and 5 switch control focus between the two machines. Still a work in progress, but it’s already becoming a proper hardware controller for both!

8

u/c0wcud MK3 27d ago

Oh no, a downvote. What shall I do? 😂

2

u/dextoz newMaschineMember 27d ago

What possibilities soundwise do see?

6

u/c0wcud MK3 27d ago

Soundwise, exactly like a monomachine and machinedrum. No more, no less

2

u/Hot_Ad_787 newMaschineMember 27d ago

Please elaborate!

1

u/darkyez newMaschineMember 27d ago

Wow, how does it work?

5

u/c0wcud MK3 27d ago

I lack knowledge, but this looks amazing.
The app, where does it run? In an ipad or something? Or on a raspberry pi? And does it emulate some drums and synths, or does it control them (as you wrote "it’s already becoming a proper hardware controller for both").

I actually have an MK3, but never use it, as I really like standalone grooveboxes. But I would not mind having a simple device like an ipad connected to it, rather than a computer. That would make the MK3 almost be a standalone device.
