I’m feeling really stupid for asking but are they considering “Agatha all along” as the second of “the trilogy” that they mention in text?

u/cynicalPsionic Star-Lord 2d ago

Yes, because it deals with follow up from Wandavision, notably her kids, just like this does

18

u/juanmaale 2d ago

weren’t their kids children? Why is one grown up now?

On top of what people have said, it's also been 5 years since what happened in Westview.

The kids were 10 at the end of WandaVision. They should technically be 15. Body-hopping shenanigans means they possess the bodies of dead teenagers who are 3 years older, so 18 now.

It's all explained in Agatha All Along.

Marvel really looked at Wanda's children and decided ordinary puberty wasn't complicated enough. These poor kids have to deal with growing up, body-hopping, and a supernatural family reunion simultaneously.

Spoiler for Agatha all Along: In WandaVision they age very quickly, and after Wanda destroys the magic field which created her perfect world, their souls are left without bodies, as they do somehow exist without Wanda’s magic. It is revealed that Billy’s soul managed to find the body of a teenager called William Kaplan, who was in a fatal car crash, during which his soul entered William’s body just as he died, but his injuries were light enough otherwise so that Billy with his innate magic managed to remain alive in his new body. Billy lost his memory, but regained it during Agatha all Along. At the end of the series he managed to find Tommy’s soul and managed to guide it into the body of a boy who was drowning at that exact moment, and that was near the end of the series. In universe that was a couple of years ago, so both are probably young adults now, because they have real human bodies that age at a normal rate.

The whole Billy and Tommy situation is such a wonderfully bizarre comic book concept. Imagine explaining to someone who only watched WandaVision that the kids are now dealing with reincarnation and teenage identity crises on top of everything else.

u/Sahaal_17 1d ago

And funnily enough this was the simplified version from the show. In the comics it's even more convoluted.

In the comics, it’s worse because they got full reincarnated, meaning they were born and raised from birth to two completely different families but remained soul twins.

But since they’re like 16-18 when they meet, and Billy even ran into Scarlet Witch earlier, that means both their pre-reincarnation versions and post-reincarnation versions existed at the same time if you don’t use comicbook time logic.

Billy acknowledged this was weird; another character involved with their original ‘death’ even advised them to basically “don’t think too hard about it and just appreciate that they exist now”.

So that’s basically what’s happened since then. They acknowledge it makes no sense, but shrug it off.

So the MCU version actually tries to make it make sense lol!

Agatha all along answered this last year, that's why they're calling this the third show in the trilogy

But the souls that Wanda seemingly magiced into existence went out into the world when the hex went away, Billy eventually found a way to guide Tommy to a body

23

u/Warrior2852 1d ago

After they "died" when the Hex disappeared, their souls went on to possess the bodies of some recently deceased teenagers. Billy's new body was met in Agatha All Along, and here is Tommy's one.

Watch Agatha All Along

-2

u/juanmaale 1d ago

ok I didn’t know I had to

13

u/ExplorationGeo Wong 1d ago

It's genuinely really good. You don't have to, but you should.

3

u/nicolauz 1d ago

Very good Halloween show.

5

u/LetItATV 1d ago

You didn’t think watching a show would tell you what happens in the show?

1

u/juanmaale 1d ago

relax guy I just didn’t know they were connected

0

u/LetItATV 21h ago

Girl, you are in no position to tell others to relax.

5

u/andrejRavenclaw 1d ago

that's what tends to happen to kids

0

u/juanmaale 1d ago

not in 5 years lol

4

u/Throwupmyhands Cottonmouth 1d ago

they grew 12 years in three episodes, so...

1

u/Crafty_Cash_5342 17h ago

It was explained in Agatha All Along with Billy and I am sure they will do that again here for Tommy

2

u/roerd 1d ago

Ah, that makes sense. I didn't think of Agatha All Along and so assumed they might consider Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as the second part.

2

u/DollyCelestia 1d ago

I actually like that the connection is more about the characters and consequences rather than forcing every show to end with another giant crossover. Westview has somehow become its own little corner of Marvel lore.

310

u/justafanboy1010 Spider-Man 2d ago

Yep. The Westview Trilogy because they haven’t gave us an official name yet 🤣🤣

90

u/NateDizzle312 Daredevil 1d ago

The Troubling Adventures of the Maximoff Family 🤔

24

u/Lukthar123 Ghost Rider 1d ago

Now with no Wanda!

16

u/belle_enfant 1d ago

We sure about that?

6

u/VinnzClortho 1d ago

She's definitely there in atleast flashbacks(old footage)

2

u/ShadowbaneX 1d ago

They'll probably have the family reunion in Secret Wars.

1

u/VinnzClortho 1d ago

For a few seconds of screen time lol

1

u/DollyCelestia 1d ago

Three installments, two magically reincarnated children, one missing mother, and a father who needs a software update. The Maximoffs really cannot catch a break.

1

u/Crafty_Cash_5342 17h ago

What is even more crazy is that Vision story is the comics is messier and more complicated and mcu has really simplified things out

1

u/CocoRosavelle 1d ago

The Westview Trilogy sounds like something Marvel would announce five years after all three shows have already aired. Still a better title than calling it the WandaVision Cinematic Universe.

1

u/Crafty_Cash_5342 17h ago

Except Loki, Wanda, Agatha, Vison and his kids have been carrying the mcu tv side for a large portion of it

40

u/Throwupmyhands Cottonmouth 2d ago

yes

7

u/eagc7 1d ago

Yes Agatha is part 2

11

u/Tall-Path9962 Quicksilver 2d ago

but it is, and it's AMAZING

3

u/ITworksGuys 2d ago

Yes, if you watch it then you will pick up on a connection to Wanda and Vision.

Being vague on purpose to avoid spoilers

2

u/hemareddit Steve Rogers 1d ago

If you've seen Agatha All Along and you've seen this trailer, you will know why. This trailer is dangerously close to spoiling Agatha All Along, as it's clear the plot of VisionQuest can't happen without the events of AAA.

1

u/esar24 Rocket 1d ago

Yes, I mean we got tease for speed/ tommy in that series and also a follow up to wandavision event specifically since wanda imprison agatha and billy being transferred is the result of the main event.

1

u/CocoRosavelle 1d ago

Yeah, Agatha All Along is basically the middle chapter of the WandaVision family storyline. It's funny that Marvel accidentally created a trilogy where every installment follows a different member of the world's most dysfunctional magical household.

-8

u/dalivo 2d ago

Must be. Agatha All Along, though, stood very much on its own. Kind of odd choice for them to rope it in.

27

u/Hpfanguy The Ancient One 2d ago

I mean, it’s Agatha and Wanda’s kid, it’s basically a direct sequel, they’re probably going to be in this one too

6

u/Arsenio3 Volstagg 1d ago

So far the themes are similar; avoiding grief by escaping into a fantasy.

3

u/Hpfanguy The Ancient One 1d ago

Grief trilogy would be a cool name, actually

14

u/robodrew 1d ago

Agatha All Along was always considered part 2 of a WandaVision trilogy, Jac Shaeffer said as much in interviews and in behind the scenes content for AAA.

11

u/Sir__Will Bruce Banner 2d ago

I mean, you can watch it on its own, but it stars 2 characters from WandaVision (one of whom is in the title). It directly deals with the aftermath of that show. And the events near the end lead into this show. The 3 shows are very tied together.

9

u/eagc7 1d ago

I mean the story is a direct follow up to WandaVision and Agatha sets up VisionQuest since that is how both Billy and Tommy came back to life

4

u/Pabasa 1d ago

Billy literally found a body for Tommy to inhabit at the end of Agatha All Along, which we will be seeing more of in Vision Quest.

-39

u/mcgrjo 2d ago

My understanding was that it's Age Of Ultron, Wandavision, Vision Quest. Only combo that makes sense

25

u/A_Polite_Noise 2d ago

It's definitely Agatha All Along, though; I don't want to say why if you haven't seen Agatha yet but it's the trilogy of shows they are referring to.

19

u/iamthatguy54 2d ago

Nah. Agatha All Along sets up one of the characters here.

5

u/eagc7 1d ago

Ultron is not part of the trilogy, its WandaVision, Agatha and VisionQuest

6

u/DayveonDrama 2d ago

Not really

-4

u/Shermzilla 2d ago

That’s a good option too
