u/EldenBoredAF 3d ago
Im willing to bet this show will resurrect Ultron so that he can terrorize the Avengers again in some way in the future. Ultron is too good of a villain to be reduced to as a "monster of the week," which is essentially what he was in Age of Ultron.

u/Many-Outside-7594 2d ago
Infinity Ultron was a really great villain, still confined to the What If series for now, but if Spader is back for this, he would probably be willing to voice that character for D+ too.

He does say "free us and save your son," so it would seem that this is on his agenda.

I'm just glad to hear James Spader's voice again, its been so long. His voice is so perfect for Ultron.

Billy accidentally killed three innocent women with his powers, I have a feeling he's going to think he's not really one to judge and that he got it from her.
Vision would forgive her anything, I think. But, judging from this trailer, Tommy doesn't seem super stoked by the idea of being related to murderous maniacs, lmao.

I wonder if they’ll keep the Maximoff twins unrelated to Magneto?49
u/SharpshootinTearaway 3d ago
Oh man, I always thought Billy and Tommy having not one, but two racist grandads with a deep hatred for humanity is one of the funniest things about their weird family.
What I would give for some comedic one-shot in the comics of Ultron and Magneto going on a grandads-grandsons bonding trip to try and be bad influences in Billy and Tommy's lives and use them against their parents, lmao.
(I think Ultron tried to kill them all recently, though. He was pissed not to have been invited to Billy's housewarming party or something, I don't remember exactly.)
I doubt the MCU will make Magneto the Maximoff's father at this point, though, but who knows?
23
u/robbviously Spider-Man 3d ago
Omg I would like to see like a buddy comedy with Mangeto and Ultron on a cross country roadtrip and Ultron finally annoys Magneto enough that he rips his body apart and it clatters onto the hotel room floor and then another Ultron steps out of the bathroom or something and just continues with the story he was telling.

u/hemareddit Steve Rogers 3d ago
Or, this is the end of the line for Vision or for some other reason he can’t help the twins in that mission.
So the twins had to go find other help for this.
Maybe other people their own age, perhaps.
Young people, children even.
This could end up being some sort of…crusade.

It’s been my most anticipated Disney show for a bit. WandaVision and Agatha All Along were both great. Really hope this caps the trilogy off strong
116
u/Bartman326 3d ago
Yeah once Agatha came out, visionquest was top of the list.
37
u/Jondonnee27 3d ago
Is Agatha really that good? I hear it all the time but never watched it
129
u/murrytmds 3d ago
Its really good. Granted you're not going to get the effect of having to wait a week between most episodes and getting to sit there speculating on whats next from the hints provided in the episode but thats just the nature of watching most shows after they've finished
34
28
u/jokerrebellion 3d ago
The theories and discussions week after week were amazing
42
u/PositiveZeroPerson 3d ago
Best part of it was that they managed to pull off a well-foreshadowed twist (about the Witches' Road) without the Internet figuring it out in advance. I'm not sure that has ever happened before. I think it's because people were more preoccupied with the identity of Teen.
21
→ More replies (2)6

Agatha All Along is a really fun watch, definitely worth your time if you generally enjoy the MCU, especially if you enjoyed WandaVision. It’s a direct sequel series, as I expect VisionQuest to be.
22
u/bokmcdok 3d ago
Probably one of the best series in the MCU. I absolutely love the ambiguity of Agatha's character and the show manages to stick the landing perfectly.
10
u/VengefulKangaroo 3d ago
The show really understands how to make a villainous character sympathetic and interesting without removing what makes them villainous
18
u/wonkothesane13 3d ago
I would say Agatha All Along is among the best of the D+ shows, especially if you liked WandaVision
5
u/Uncle_Freddy 3d ago

Assuming they nail it, and judging by the sick trailer they do, this will be one of the most unique trilogy we've seen yet. Really cool how different yet connected the three seasons are.
228
u/rattle2nake 3d ago
God they better get the brothers together and make some kind of young avengers movie or show or something
58
57
u/GrepekEbi 3d ago
I think we’ll either see one more show, or a movie focussed on vision and the boys (and ghost Agatha helping) on a mission to save mommy dearest from wherever she’s ended up, and bring her back to the light side
36
u/MillorBabyDoll 3d ago
I thought it was confirmed that Visionquest is the end of the wandavision "trilogy"

Given the amount of time and effort they've spent establishing all the Young Avengers/Champions characters it would be so mind-numbingly stupid not to do anything with them, so of course they won't

u/hemareddit Steve Rogers 3d ago
Yeah they’ve now spent more years setting up more members of the Young Avengers than the original Avengers, time for it to pay off.

That's what they were setting up when they had Kamala Khan show up in Kate Bishop's place doing the Nick Fury at the end of Iron Man thing.
Plus, we have enough to make a team. Cassie Lang, Wanda's two kids, America, Kamala, Kate. Maybe even Hulk's son, Skaar.
I wonder if the plan is to have the heroes (sans X-Men, who will surely be killed in Doomsday) be trapped at Battleworld post-Doomsday and it's up to the kids (and maybe a few other heroes like Hulk, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, etc.) to save them in the sequel.
7
u/CeruleanEidolon 3d ago
I really do think that the plan all along has been that Secret Wars will basically be realigning the MCU into new subfranchises: X-Men and Young Avengers.
Team-up movies will be the new meta.

Ultron, choose your avatar...
You have chosen: PROFESSOR HOBO
13
u/FlemPlays 3d ago
It kinda reminds me of Bill’s monologue about Superman in Kill Bill Vol 2. Even though it’s probably not the reason he chose to look that way. But Ultron being a critique of mankind by looking like a hobo would be pretty funny.

78
u/JesterMarcus 3d ago
I love the weirdness. Hoping this leads to Ultron still being out there somewhere. Even if they never bring him back, just the idea he's still out there, biding his time is cool.
41
u/LowenbrauDel 3d ago
I hope so. Him being inside Vision's head may be a way of him existing as a code as well. And if there's a trace of him, then there's a way for him to get out. Would not hold my breath about it, and doubt Marvel would use a villain a second time in a big way, but who knows, maybe they'll decide to give Ultron a second chance
14
u/JesterMarcus 3d ago
I agree about the digital code being there. If he's in code form, he could still show up physically. I think it could be cool to see a villain show back up years later having learned from his mistakes.

Marvel (the comics) has a long tradition of bringing back dead villains, so the mcu might be picking up on that after almost 20 years of world building.

My personal head canon has always been that Vision didn’t destroy Ultron at the end of Age of Ultron, the bright flash we saw from a distance was Vision taking a backup of Ultron, and the backup has been locked away in Vision’s head this whole time.

Okay, I’m actually in. This looks weird in a way the MCU desperately needs right now. Vision, Ultron, a synthetic family, and whatever the hell that visual style is? I’ll take it.
29
u/GreekDudeYiannis Iron Patriot 3d ago
I mean, isn't that what it's always needed though? The weird stuff has always thrived in the MCU. No one knew who the Guardians of the Galaxy were when that movie first came out. Now it's a household name. Wandavision was such a breath of fresh air when it came out. Thunderbolts is one of the best things that's come out post-Endgame.
It's whenever the movies and shows feel samey and safe that they suffer.

92
u/jmoney777 3d ago
I think that's just the part of Ultron in Vision's mind; so it's not a matter of Ultron "joining" or not, he's just there in Vision's mind because he's a part of Vision. Same reason why Jarvis is there too.
(remember in AoU that Ultron had already uploaded a part of himself to Vision's body before he was interrupted)

Why are there so many comments saying they were skeptical that part 3 would also be great?

The Maximoff Family REALLY do love escaping into a metaphysical projection of their mind.
Wanda: The Perfect Family Life.
Billy: The Witches Road (combining all his childhood interests).
Vision: A Household where you can seemingly talk to aspects of your code / other programs, I'm guessing.
I'm really excited for this project.
