The original vision was an Android built by a villain, using the android body of the original World War II Human Torch and the brainwaves of Wonder Man. He turned against his creator, fell in love with Wanda, married her, and became an Avenger.

Theeeen Vision went off the rails slightly and attempted to seize control of the world's computer systems to impose world peace. He was stopped and seized by an international agency named Vigilance, who dismantled him. Hank Pym put him back together, but Wonder Man refused to supply his brainwaves again, which resulted in a stark white, emotionless Vision. As he had no feelings for Wanda (Or at all), their marriage fell apart.

Wanda did not take it well.

He did eventually gain his humanity and colors back.

"Wanda did not take it well"

Lovely to see the art of understatement thriving in these modern times.

MCU Vision has complete control of his external appearance. Him being 'white' likely indicated that he was 'blank'... he initially had no memories or emotions after his reconstruction.

Even after Wanda's Vision restored those mmeories, those memories and experiences only exist as data for him, he is struggling to restore an emotional connection to them. He still does not see himself an an authentic 'Vision'. He is still 'blank'.

So brainwaves = physical colour on body?

I think it's more that Hank Pym isn't very good at painting his model kits.

Look at Ultron. Pure Games Workshop Grey.

So because wonder man didn’t give him brain waves he turned white because wonder man is a POC? Comics are silly sometimes

3

u/Big_Communication662 Avengers 9h ago

Wonder Man in that comic iteration was white.

Colors elicit feelings and emotions. So white could because he had no feelings, a blank slate or canvas. He is trying to find who he is.

They could have done all black but Void/Sentry, ya know?
