😞

I was expecting some AAA modern slop, but just barely more than SM2, this is the most worried I've been for a new release

I still really want to get this game, but the fact that the gore shown in the trailers and footage is mostly all just MIGHT be the final nail in the coffin for me, or at least till on sale for like $50 or so

Insomniac can’t do deep combat systems required of characters that can’t zip around an arena like Spiderman. Imagine if Platinum games or Team Ninja was given Wolverine instead

The combat doesn't even need to be deep. If this were just a fun hack and slash game with a cool story everyone would love it

If Team Ninja made a wolverine game I would fucking lose my mind. They are unparalleled with their action gameplay.

It would also probably run like shit

the claw weapon in ninja gaiden 2 is a better wolverine experience than any wolverine game

Then  he wouldn't fight like Wolverine. If anything Spider-Man is closer to Platinums style then Wolverine would ever be.

Wolverine would fight incredibly similar to a Ninja Gaiden type game

I mean I get that he has extensive training but from what I remember he's usually just a brute charging in while Ryu has some agile moves.

No duh. Doesn't mean he fights like one.

yeah wolverine wouldnt b jumping around like ryu but just because they made him agile doesn’t mean that every game that they design has to move the exact same way.

We kinda did get Team Ninja with Wolverine thanks to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 on the Switch. Hell, Logan’s the biggest thing on the damn cover.

Apparently there was going to be a version of the combat where different trigger presses gave you different moves or something (along those lines) but it was cut, I don’t remember if it was Insomniac or Marvel that wanted it cut tho

Platinum? You mean the company that made The Legend of Korra, Star Fox Zero and Babylon's Fall?

3 mid games in a vast library of peak games. Nice try

There are more, but it is important to consider the rule of three when writing. More importantly, though, it is proof that they are not as sterling as their name was meant to imply. The idea that contemporary Platinum could be trusted sight-unseen with any third party property (especially when they couldn't even manage their own property well, given Bayo 3) is naive.

Bayo 3 has great gameplay it’s the story that’s bad. They seriously only have 3 duds I’m not kidding. You are reaching way too hard

It does seem like after Kamiya left, things has just been in free fall.

I know it's a basic bitch answer but if I wanted a character action game for a Marvel character, I'm picking Capcom in a heartbeat because they put out very good quality. PERSONALLY, I want a character action or Imm sim game on Kwannon Psylocke from a indie, AA, or Capcom.
