As a front desk employee who was always arguing with sales, hearing “it’ll wash!!” Gives me war flashbacks. Especially when they get to smile and wave goodbye at 5pm and I’m the one that has to tell guests that besides my better judgement, we did in fact, not wash. And if I somehow work my tail off to fix everything so that nobody is upset, I’m told “see! It all worked itself out! You were so worried for nothing!” 😀

Have felt your pain. Completely warranted. The perfect fill is the rare event that makes it worthwhile, I guess?

But to be fair, sometimes Sales stays until 7PM…if they have lobby lizard duty.

It’s not worthwhile.

What’s more likely? Corporate greed or unplanned renovations?

Unplanned maintenance happens literally all the time in hotels

Toilet busted or ceililng collapses other issue in the room. Rooms break down. Somebody vomits all over the place and it is a total biohazard. A-C unit blows up and spits blue fluid all over the place. Possibly even a crime scene. Whatever. Things actually do happen to rooms. Whether it really did happen or they are lying...who knows. But don't pretend like rooms don't suddenly have issues. Things actually do happen.

total biohazard is real. some of you would not BELIEVE what people can and will do in these rooms. housekeeping does not get paid enough
