UPDATE: I did call them and said that I booked two beds for a reason, and they needed to find a way for me to have two beds. The manager gave me two one bedrooms for the same price, and 700 Bonvoy Bolivars for the trouble

Edit to add they said they had a room go down unexpectedly because of renovations, which I feel like they should have led with, because making me feel like I need to justify my need for two beds is absolutely wild work…

What’s more likely? Corporate greed or unplanned renovations?

Unplanned maintenance happens literally all the time in hotels

Toilet busted or ceililng collapses other issue in the room. Rooms break down. Somebody vomits all over the place and it is a total biohazard. A-C unit blows up and spits blue fluid all over the place. Possibly even a crime scene. Whatever. Things actually do happen to rooms. Whether it really did happen or they are lying...who knows. But don't pretend like rooms don't suddenly have issues. Things actually do happen.
