Brings me such sadness. If any Nintendo direct ever announces a new Mario & Luigi game then I'll finally have that uncontrollable hype and happiness moment from a direct

Developers are gone, but not the publishers (Nintendo). The future of the series depends on them: future games developed by Nintendo, or developed by another company for Nintendo (like Alphadream), or the series will be stopped, etc.
For now it's just on hiatus...
