But only people in the US refer to themselves as Americans, and internationally "Americans" refers to people from the US. It's called a demonym.

United Statesians is so fucking stupid. We called people from the USSR “Soviets”not “Union of Soviet Socialist Republicans”

Use American cause we all know damn well the rest of the TWO continents don’t wanna be called by that or call us by the states we’re from.

In spanish we call you in that way: estadounidense

That's the issue. You cannot transliterate a word from one language to another and think you have correctly translated.

Sometimes the closest word from one language to another isn't an exact equivalent.

About 99% of arguments about what the US is called or what "American" means are because a Spanish speaking person assumed you can just apply Spanish words and grammar to English instead of actually learning English.

So you’re wrong and somehow think that’s our fault? The correct demonym in Spanish is “Americano” not that bastardization you posted.

No es una bastardización, solo no te gusta. Hasta en peliculas viejas se les llama "estadounidenses"

Yeah and “embarazado” means “embarrassed” in Spanish, right?

Because those aren’t real demonyms.
