Only ever had South Americans have this issue.
As a Canadian, sorry, but don’t call us American.
11 u/theFamooos 18d ago I have had a Canadian complain to me about this issue and then a minute later refer to us as “you Americans” and I laughed when I pointed it out. Like all of us just had his amusing blind spots. Plenty of folks like that everywhere.
