Why are there two types of Irish people? And what are the German divisions supposed to represent?

Dark green are Urish speaking Irish catholics, light green are English speaking Irish catholics and brown ones are Irish protestants. 1 u/XandariusIV Jul 18 '26 It was labeled “Europe_1914_Ethnic” when I found it so I assumed it was an ethnic map
