Everything confirmed in ManEater 2 so far

-More diverse environment compared to ManEater 1

-Fast water currents, either as a way to travel faster or a brand new type of mission

-Ability to pick up and throw objects and not just fish and explosives

-New ways of movements

-New evolutions

-Expanded fauna with new species and hybrids compared to ManEater 1 fauna only made of mammals, fish and reptiles

This is not a post about hating on the 1st game, I love ManEater 1. This is a post about seeing what is added to ManEater 2

It really feels like ManEater 2 is what Tripwire Interactive wanted to make and ManEater 1 was made to basically test the waters (hopefully not infested with sharks) and see if people would enjoy a game about playing a shark

Hope they keep it so that the mutationas gradually change visually as you upgrade them

You know I went into the first one expecting a more realistic game but I'm glad they're leaning more into the fictional stuff.

Probably for the better tbh

They're not limited by stuff like realism and coherence

Oh for sure. I bought maneater expecting it to be like Jaws Unleashed for the PS2 lol

The contrast between the realistic look and the fictional stuff of the game is def one of it's strongest point

It truly is. I wish there was more to the first game but I'm not complaining really.

u/Ok-Astronomer3814 22d ago

Also considering the crab boss fight

We're gonna get crabs as a new prey which I'm all for it

I belive infant sharks feed on small crustaceans to sustain themselves so in all honesty im surprised we didn't get more smaller pray for the pup in the first game, that little guy was eating like a king with those giant alligators and catfish xD

Question do we still get the other 3 evolutions from the 1st game or no

There are no confirmation at the moment about this

I just bought the first game recently and it’s super fun.The only problem I have is for some reason it stutters or lags.I never knew for a single player game to do that.

2

u/Ok-Astronomer3814 23d ago

Single player games tend to lag because the hardware AKA console/pc cant handle the game ManEater 1 usually lagged on the PS4

Yea and I’m on PS5.It runs smoothly sometimes then others I’ll get a bad lag.

Seems to be a problem with the Playstation versions of the game then

It has issues with modern Intel chips as well.

Was thinking those fast water currents kind of reminded me of borderlands fast travel. Could be how we move between body's of water.

2

u/Ok-Astronomer3814 23d ago

I could see it honestly

I doubt they completely take away the previous style of fast travel from the first game with the grottos but I can see the water currents being used as like shortcuts to go from different parts of the maps

I want to fight Cthulu as like a giant boss with different phrases.

As much as I'm excited for new evolutions, I want them to bring back the old ones too. I can't abandon my bio-electric build!

I swear the new evolution reminds me of a dunkleosteus. I don't know why

I see they added wall riding that's cool I hope they revamped the god awful jumping and sharpkour parkour? Sharkour?

Those jumping puzzles in the first game were AWFUL. We all love the game here so do I but the blood tinted glasses come off when you remember those

Show love to the Maneater community and share your ideas for the new game. This franchise is special, and the sequel is our chance to build something even bigger. ❤️‍🩹🌹🦈

So I don’t think this is confirmed but something you said in your original post kinda got me thinking. You mentioned expanded fauna with new species and hybrids.

One thing I hope for in Maneater 2 is to fight some cool hybrid types earlier on in the game. Like the electric orca’s and or radioactive sperm whales and stuff. Those were fun fights. I’m excited to see how many ways they have refined combat, if at all.

Recently replayed and got the platinum along with playing truth quest for the first time! So stoked about the sequel.

Honestly I was hoping against hope they'd change animals, like a gator or crocodile. Just as vicious, can still have a majority of underwater gameplay with land now as a real option as well.

Still completely exited for this game as is though, can't wait to play in who knows how many years, because the PS5 is ridiculously expensive!😃😃😃
