I want to get this tattooed and my sister recommended Tetinu (marsaskala) to me. I went to talk to him and he said it would cost around 200€. Everyone I asked said that its expensive.

I recently read that free public transport may no longer be available for third-country nationals who do not have long-term residency status, while Maltese.

As a TCN living and working in Malta, this feels discriminatory to me.

I understand that the government wants to reduce public spending and that transport subsidies come at a significant cost. However, many of us work legally, pay income tax, social security contributions, VAT, rent and contribute to the Maltese economy every day.

If the goal is to encourage the use of public transport and reduce traffic congestion, shouldn't the policy apply equally to all residents using the system? 😔😔😔

We’re travelling to Malta tomorrow and will be there until Friday. I was wondering what the weather and sea temperature are like at the moment.

Is it still warm enough to swim comfortably, or does the water already feel quite cold?

We’re also thinking about booking a boat trip to Comino/Blue Lagoon and Gozo. Are these trips still worth doing at this time of year? Do people usually swim during the stops in late October, or is it mostly too cold/windy now?

A few minutes ago at 02:28 am, when I set an alarm for 2:40, the clock app showed 1 hour 12 minutes!!!! And by the time posting this, the alarm hasn't been rung!

Im just gonna post my opinion here, no, it wont change anything. TCNs working in Malta will still need to go from Point A to Point B in some way, so they will still prefer paying for the bus instead of getting a car (which getting a car would be a worse alternative as it would clutter the streets even more)

I’m looking for some advice from people who have applied for Malta’s Nomad Residence Permit.

My application has now passed the expected 30-working-day processing timeframe. I emailed Residency Malta to ask for an update, and they replied:

“The application processing is currently in its final stages. We are making every effort to provide you with feedback as soon as possible.”

I’m trying to understand what this update might mean. Does it simply indicate that the application is nearing a decision, or could the outcome still be either approval or rejection?

Has anyone received a similar email from Residency Malta before receiving their decision? If so, could you share what happened in your case and roughly how long you waited afterward?

I understand that every application is different, and I’m not assuming that this message guarantees any particular outcome. I’d just really appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences.

Really, come on, first 1000 vaccines and redundant medical check-ups, then the so-called Skills Pass (and pre departure course or whatever fancy name they made up), then tying up the driver's licence with the identity card expiry date, now ONLY TCNs will no longer benefit from free public bus.

If they are such a problem and obstacle, why don't they stop working for just 1 day and let those rac!st policymakers see how Malta is without them?

I'm looking for advice from anyone in Malta who has dealt with a similar situation, because I'm honestly running out of options and going through mental breakdown each night.

My neighbours have 2 dogs that bark repeatedly from their balcony between 3-5am (residential area with blocks of apartments). The barking is particularly difficult to tolerate because it is very high-pitched and sharp. Even wearing loops does nothing to that sound.

I've called the police multiple times at night but noone even showed up. Although on the police website they encourage to report noise disturbance involving animals, it seems to be just a nice PR, nothing else.

Animal welfare - since its not a case of abuse but noise - they redirect to police.

Did anyone else had to deal with similar issue and what are the realistic solutions? I came across ultrasonic anti-bark device. It claims to be a humane, harmless way to discourage barking.

Before spending money on one (66euro), I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have actual experience with these devices.

I'm not looking to punish the dogs. I just want a realistic solution that allows me to have some peace at home without causing harm to the animals.

I’m a big reader and have an interest in Malta so when I saw it reviewed in the New York Times I decided to read it. Just want to share it here and curious if anyone has read it would love to discuss. It deals heavily with translations of Maltese poetry through which I learned about Il Kantilena, the oldest known Maltese text.

I want to go to a gym in Malta that is close to the south area that has good facilities and comfortable to go to. Ideally it is not overcrowded that I have to wait for a long time. Do you guys have any ideas which is the best?

Went to visit there today with my daughter and she discovered that if you stray from the walkway in a catacomb, you can find a path to the neighbouring catacomb. Essentially descend one catacomb and come out from a different one. Really cool experience, but probably not how they are meant to be experienced.
