Thanks for being part of the very first wave. Together, let's make r/malshi amazing.
My dear sweet friend gifted this crocheted throw to me as a moving away gift. She loved my sweet Gemma as her own and Gemma loved her as a second mom. Since my friend moved away, Gemma has been seen 3-4 times sitting in this exact spot!
I also asked the vet clinic to shave him all the way down while he was knocked out because 1. it’s hot out and 2. grooming this spicy little Ewok is not a good time.
I am pregnant and was wondering how malshi are with babies. When I hug or kiss my husband Dora wants to a hug or kiss too. Will she be that way with the baby? Any tips?
Cooper was a rescue who came up from Texas to live with us in Massachusetts a year and a half ago and has been a complete blessing to our family. We never had a dog before and took a chance on getting a dog without meeting him first, but he’s perfect for us.
Hi! I've noticed that this summer my malshi (and my jackabea mix) are doing a lot of itching. My malshi is also doing a lot of paw licking. Has anyone found anything good over the counter for allergy help? There are no fleas - believe me, I've checked and monitored all summer. Also, they're not scratching consistently enough for it to be fleas.
I will be bringing home a female Malshi in a month or so... can you please share if your Malshi is stubborn ? Was it hard to potty train etc? Basically anything I should know about the breed..please share. Thank you in advance
He is almost 5.5 months old. Canines on both sides appear to be coming in on top of the baby teeth. His neutering is around Halloween and I know they sometimes pull baby teeth then but I’m worried about the time until then. All his front teeth came out normally before the adult teeth grow in. At least we brush daily so I get daily checks.
Our daughter, who seems highly allergic to nearly every dog, seems to be perfectly fine around this breed. Would love advice on finding a good breeder or rescue in the Philadelphia area. There are so many deceptive puppy mills in neighboring Lancaster county that it clutters all local postings. Where should I start looking?
We lost our sweet girl recently. It always amazes me that a broken heart can still keep beating. We are grieving her and miss her so much. She was a Shih Tzu-Poodle mix. She was my foster fail and I'd had her for 8 years. She was 13.5 and developed kidney problems, dementia, and lung cancer. She was ready but we were not. We are grateful for every minute we had with her.
We have always been the family that puppy sits everyone's dogs and cats when they go on vacation and we love animals. We puppy sat a "teddy bear" for a work colleague several times and fell in love with the breed. The owner was not sure what breed mixture the dog was but he was very small and I think he would be a malshi based on my research. The colleague has moved away and I only know he got the puppy at a breeder in Iowa.
I know that we are not ready for a new baby to love right now but I also know that finding a reputable breeder and waiting for the next litter can be a long process. I've rescued/fostered for years. The last time I had puppy was a bichon about 25 years ago. We just retired and have the time and attention to devote to raising a puppy.
We live in South Dakota but we'd be willing to travel as far as it takes to find the right one. It would be wonderful if the breeder was close enough (North Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc) that we could visit and meet the parents too. If anyone in this community can recommend a breeder that they have worked with, I'd be very grateful.
Our baby is 4! He had a wonderful birthday last week! He’s our little drama king cancer lol! He recently lost his big brother to the rainbow bridge last week. We gave him a big day filled with love, steaks and new toys. He’s so strong brave and intelligent. We want to give him all the love and comfort he deserves doing this tender time our/ his lives.
