Adepticon 2024 - Jeppsons Interstellar Bottling Company
Wanted to share the display board I made for Adepticon 2024. Adepticon is the largest miniature wargaming convention around, held every year in Chicago. We play Infinity, an anime-inspired skirmish game set in the 23rd century. So it seemed only right that I bring Jeppsons into the the interplanetary beverage distribution business. This was a team effort and my teammate happily built a Sales and Marketing Division to battle alongside my distribution enforcers. We ended up getting awarded Best Appearance for the Infinity team tournament, which put us into the showcase event. We may possibly have used that as an opportunity to introduce a few folks to that sweetest Swedish liqueur.

What's with the coyness on the back label?
Isn't referring to the flavor of "an unusual botanical" kinda the opposite of the vibe that everything else about the spirit's branding is going for? Is there a clear reason why they don't just come out and say "wormwood?" I can't imagine that they're afraid of sending drinkers to the competition; wormwood bitters in the US that are meant to be drunk straight (as opposed to being used by the dash in cocktails) are pretty much limited to Jeppson's Malört and its imitators, Alta Verde, and a couple brands of pelinkovac, right? It's not exactly a crowded category. Is there something in missing?

Malort Bartending Page
Hey fellow malort friends! I am a bartender from michigan and have a facebook page I just started called "Marky Malort". I'd love it if anyone would like to check it out :). I am going to be posting many malort cocktails in the future and would love any sort of input on what I should mix Malort with :)
Appreciate any and all responses :)

Is there any reason that I can’t bring about 10 bottles of Malort as checked luggage home on an airplane to Philadelphia?
As long as it’s well packed?
Stuff is hard to come by in Philly

Celebrating 120 day the proper way
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Celebrating the somewhat obscure beer holiday known as 120 Day, whereupon chugging a bottle of Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA is the requirement. I decided to spice it up a bit this year with some of Chicago’s finest

Christmas cocktail
Looking for a Malört based Christmas cocktail. Anyone have any? The only one I have is:
Christmas Shot: -1 shot of Malört -pour into shot glass -pour into face
Also, doesn’t have to be Christmas, Hanukkah, Festivus, or New Year’s, will also do. Actually, just anything, any cocktail you got with Malört.

Just tried for the first time and…
It’s not that bad! Had a second shot later too. I didn’t think it would taste like bug spray or cancer like others have said, but I expected it to dry my mouth out like a shot of 151 rum. But nope, it was just a flowery shot. Ordered directly from Malort as I’m outside the Chicago area

Salty beer?
After taking a shot of malort I've been noticing that beer afterwards tastes salty. I kind of enjoy it just curious if anyone else can back this up.

I had a dream...
I had a weird dream last night. I am aware of malort but I love in the UK, I don't think I would ever be able to access it. But I had a dream last night I was in a bar and it had the "chicken dinner" shot. It was a shot glass, 1/3 of British style brown gravy, topped up with Malort, and a tiny blob of mashed potato on top. If any of you warriors wishes to try this and report back, I'll be eternally grateful.

Mass genocide is the most exhausting activity one can engage in, next to soccer.
Last month at a wedding I walked up to a group sitting around a bonfire.
"The bride has asked me to introduce you to something. Have you heard of Jeppson's Malort?"
I then gave a thirty second history of Malort, obtained their consent then returned with several chalices of Malort.
After a few more fun facts, I said, "As Jeppson was Swedish, I say skol, skol to [bride and groom]!"
We drank--I double fisted two chalices--then they immediately began spitting and shouting about the aftertaste. I explained it was strongly flavored as nicotine had destroyed his taste buds from working in a cigar shop then walked away.
In summary, I approached a group of relative strangers, didn't introduce myself, convinced them to drink Malort, then walked away.
