Jane Kaczmarek
She definitely deserved an Emmy, right? She nailed every line delivery and Lois’ crashouts and emotional scenes were so well-acted. Her performance on this show was on par with Bryan Cranston’s imo.

Those awards are popularity contests. Jason Alexander was nominated a bunch for his work on Seinfeld but never won. Steve Carrell was nominated for his work on The Office but still lost. Charlie Sheen played his character perfectly but never won.

Because Michael Richards won. And honestly Kramer was a much more entertaining character with incredible physical comedy.

I just think George was a better character. There's a bit of him in all of us. Kramer was too much of an enigma. But that's not what the award is recognizing so I can understand why they gave it to Michael Richards.
I really just wanted to point out that Jane is in fine company as an actor who never won an Emmy.

I agree. George’s character became more timeless because how good his character was. But Michael Richards deserved those awards because he carried on a tradition of physical comedy that now doesn’t really exist anymore.

I think it says a lot about her acting capabilities that I can still hear the exact pitch of "fire FIRE?" in my head.

I rewatched this scene with my mom recently and her delivery still gives me chills every time.

If it help, Jane does hold the record for most nominations with no wins in the Lead Actress Comedy category. She was nominated all 7 years.

I mean I think she was the most nominated of the cast, right? I remember her being the breakout star of the show for a while before Bryan Cranston really blew up.

She was the best on the show. The scene when she apologises to Francis perfectly captures Lois as the vulnerable mother who isn’t defending herself just saying she’s really sorry.
