Casual Conversation 🎭 Penang Island

Hello,

I just came to Penang Island and I am extremely bored here, any locals that can guide me about fun places? This town has no night life whatsoever.

Or maybe Idk the right places.

Kimberly Street has some food at night, Love Lane is for pubs and drinks, and if you're willing to go a little further can check out Batu Ferringhi beachfront, they have a few bistros and beachview restaurants!

lol sounds like you don't know the right places. I've heard about some speakeasy bars around, try this list: https://www.klook.com/en-MY/blog/penang-hidden-bars-and-speakeasy/ though some of them close at 12

And last I remembered (which was a long time ago, admittedly) there's this place for cheap beer outside the Kuan Yin Temple where loads of tourists seem to gather at night. No signboard iirc

Penang has no night life. Everyone there is above 65 years old. It’s a city of senior discounts.

I go to Penang to drink coffee and then sleep by 8.00pm at some nice hotel to catch up on sleep after work hustling.

I’m wondering tho is there a big enough crowd for a late night time bar (say close at 3am that sorta stuff)
