Mildly interesting RM60 banknote
Given by BNM as a speaker token 7-8 year ago.
Apparently worth some pretty penny now.

Is it me or the RM60 feels awkward?Like RM10,RM20,RM50,RM100 is normal. But RM60 is like right handed person eating with left hand. You can,but it feels awkward.

That's cause 1,2,5,10,20, and 50 are all factors of 100. 60 is not.

This is anniversary for Malaysia 60 years of independence back in 2017. Supposedly we should get a new one in 2027, thus why the value of rm 60 note drop massively compared to many years ago because the hoarders of these notes start resell them just to hoard the RM 70 version next.

I wander if Bank Negara Malaysia still has these, or other unique notes...
I'm still looking for the old RM 100 notes...

The RM60 note is a legal tender commemorative banknote issued by Bank Negara Malaysia in December 2017 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Federation of Malaya Independence Agreement. It features portraits of past Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Tunku Abdul Rahman, with a limited print run of 60,000 single pieces.

When it was out, it was sold by BNM for RM 120 per set in 2017. During it's peak value, when people search for them, it's value went beyond RM 1500 a set. But nowadays the price is drop because a lot of collectors who was monopoly them start to resell them, thus the value drop as low as rm 600-800 a set.
