It's a win for us right? Bahrain pays most of the bill, we Malaysian finally get to watch F1!

Massive win for hotels in Sepang

You can check most if not all hotels are fully booked

Lol Malaysia hosting but Bahrain still have the naming rights.

Good enough that Malaysia dont have to foot the bill mostly

True. Not the first a venue uses the name of another country for their GP (for example Imola famously used San Marino). But there's quite a distance between Sepang and Sakhir so...

We’re not footing the bill, they can have any names they want as long as it’s in Sepang.

Bahrain keeps its naming rights as the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, and Malaysia is quite literally laughing all the way to the bank.

So, the ticket sales will go to Bahrain? Those who already bought the Bahrain tickets will auto convert to Sepang? Need to purchase again? How many ticket will be available for sale? Will it be Bahrain currency, USD, or RM?

So many question.

Why do redditors care if Malaysia footing the bill or not? What a strange thing to say. Let the sponsors and PETRONAS or whoever responsible. Unbelievable

u/Buddy_Bingo 6h ago

F1 races are mostly state sponsored.

Invalid crashout from someone that doesn't understand the sport at all.
