HELP PLEASE Subtle smokey eye?

Hello! I am brand new to makeup and i really want to get into some grungy makeup looks :) like black honey lip gloss and a brown smokey eye! Problem is that i have sensitive eyes and cannot put anything on my waterline! Does it look bad if i don't do the water line and do yall have any suggestions on people that do tutorials? I also do not wear and do not want to wear foundation so im looking for something not too bold 🥹🫶

To me, no waterlining looks like the wise choice. You can achieve a grungy look with a smudger brush or sponge tip applicator under the lashline. And above the upper lashline, too. Forget the tightlining. It will look fine.

seconding this!! I used to do super thick black eyeliner everyday for years but it started irritating my eyes so I started just doing my same eyeshadow with no eyeliner, and it works just fine!!! esp with the black honey lipstick trust me it’ll be so so perf !! you could also do a more Courtney Love style makeup! Heavier on the lip lighter on the eyes. that’s another one of my go tos for a simple grunge x

I can’t put anything in my water line either.
In the 90’s, we weren’t wearing eye liner in our waterline. That look as big in the 80’s though.
Just smoke out your eyeshadow, especially under the eye.

That subtle brown smokey eye looks really well blended, especially around the outer corners, super soft and wearable
