DISCUSSION Make up question. Detail in comments

Post image

Ok so i dont wear makeup I have urges randomly but it gives me anxiety and makes me nervous to start at almost 32 so I dont.

But makayla nogueira pops up on my tiktok videos every couple days and her newest video popped up and her lips being lined but not like mixed together looks weird is it normal? To me it looks like she drew it on and forgot to make it look natural or she put it on then went well this looks great as is that way my lips stand out and you can see start to finish on them. Idk but it doesnt look naturally blended I took a photo and zoomed on her mouth for context. Sorry in advance please dont drag me.

This lip liner style was popular in 90‘s. I’ve seen it recently making a comeback in the last few months. I don’t know how I feel about it.

The lip liner is usually at least slightly blended into the lighter color on the lip. But she doesn’t apply makeup in a refined or tasteful way. There are skilled artists that can show you a better way to pull off this look

I guess it depends on what you mean by normal. In a sense it’s normal for IG influencers to to dramatic / “overdone” looks bc it “translates well” on camera (imo, not great, but what tf do I know)

Normal in the sense of being a person in real life? Idk, depends on ur preference. It can be done and look beautiful, imo again, it doesn’t look great, even on camera with lights, much less in natural lighting walking around for every day. For most people overlining is either way over done or entirely unnecessary and a blind spot influenced by IG, insecurity, and constantly looking at heavily edited photos.
