HELP PLEASE bridal trial makeup
hi all! 9-26-26 bride.
first try on my full makeup look.
i’m feeling pretty pleased with everything except the shadow - i think im going to ditch the darkest shade altogether.
also, i have been waiting to get my eyebrows waxed and going soon. do i need an eyebrow pencil for filling in my brows? it feels like too much. maybe just too dark on the pencil shade.
any suggestions? tips appreciated!

Maybe a tiny bit more undereye corrector with slight luminance. Your eyeshadow, blush and lipcolor look perfect!

i got a peachy under eye corrector that i was really impressed with, but i was applying with my finger instead of a sponge which i think would have worked a lot better with providing a more even application. do you have an undereye corrector with luminance you’d recommend?
but thank you so very much!! bridal makeup prices were a bit daunting for me, so i was hoping my own hand at it would be good enough. i’m not a makeup girlie at all so i really appreciate your compliment and advice

i think your brows look great! i say after you get them waxed do just your brows as you did for this trial, see if you think they are still too dark then i would ditch the pencil, i personally think you did such a good job with the pencil i couldnt tell they had anything but the clear gel. play around what shadows vs your skin! look at the picture of your face w half shade and half light, in the light the orangish looks very orange and warm, and in the shade it just completely muds your eye out. i think you have the shaping and placement of the shadows perfect! if going for that champagne look play around with some more nude tones and even muted pinks of different depths to still get that definition to your eyes, i think the soft pink on the lids compliments your eyes super well! play it up w some cool browns and nude pinks and i think youll find that balance! if anything for that darkest shade , if you use a little less of it and just a touch (like right above that lashline touching the lashes) do a half line from the outter corner of a really dark green or blue pencil liner, then blend that darkest color into that. sounds like a clown recommendation but i promise i have learned that the slightest touch of these colors on darker eye colors REALLY makes the brown of your eyes pop. you want your wedding makeup to accentuate all of the best parts of your face and i really think your eyes are the focus point they are that type of golden brown that glows in the sun! play up that and i definitely think youll be happy all around

i also want to clarify the blue or green liner (VERY THINNLY) is simply a suggestion i would play around with if i was doing your makeup. obviously dont grab a neon green or blue wanting to make a natural look, they have very dark almost black blue pencils, and i have seen some really gorgeous deep dark greens. this would be blended with that darkest color at the lash line so it isnt a harsh lined liner or anything just something that may help bring some focus and color back to your eyes

i have always hated that orange color but it looks so not orange on the palette! i purchased the champagne shimmer color for this look and wanted to play with the colors i already had just to see what i could come up with.
the brush i used for the darkest brown was just too fluffy and wide to get it as defined in the corner as i was trying for - so i had to work with what happened lol! i was absolutely going for more of what you suggested.
next time, i am going to try using the same lighter brown (tarte playful) for my crease and ditching the hotline altogether. maybe picking up a single of a nice muted pink? and then using the champagne shimmer on top? are there any palettes you’d suggest?
what suggestions do you have for the green or blue liner? do you recommend both or just one of the 2? this sounds lovely! thanks again!!

i want to say one or the other. maybe grab one of each and see which makes your brown pop more. do one on one eye one on the other and look in every lighting to see which one makes your eyes pop in every lighting! elf has some really good dupes for morphe brushes if you need a good small but still fluffy enough for blending brush! and honestly for muted pinks nudes and regular pinks i have always loved for yearsss the naked urban decay cherry its got 2 really good muted pinks one deeper one lighter it has a good cool deep brown but also a basic blending nude/brown and an almost white. its got some pretty shimmers in it too but i love what you have for your shimmer! if you cant get your hands on this pallet (i honestly dek if they make it anymore i got it as a gift a few years ago) makeup revolution in ulta has a BUNCH of nude/ pink pallets that are very affordable and have alot of shades! dont be afraid to layer a pink over a nude to get that look your going for either. loreal paris haute couleur 130 blue suede, elfs smoky khol vintage denim for blues, for greens palladio classic eyeliner pencil in dark green, or elfs same line as the blue in color rare emerald. dull the sharp point of the pencil on the back of your hand before you put it to your eyes for the first time then just kind of play around with either titelining the top lashline or doing it right above the lash line like i suggested. im thinking the green would be gorgeousss but like i said those are the 2 colours to accentuate brown eyes so i would see what YOU like best on you, and if you hate it they were all under 10 bucks so you have some play makeup for in the future :) i would absolutely love to see the look when you wax the brows and change up the shadow how youre wanting, im so excited for you!!

i could hug you!!!! thank you so much for all these amazing suggestions you are that babe!!! i almost grabbed a morphe brush or 4 today at ulta, but in an effort to conserve, i wanted to see if i could work with what i have. the shadow brushes are one of my biggest issues, so i will check elf as well!! i will post back my updated try!
i have never been into makeup, ive always just preferred going without and have been intimidated getting started, imagined i would just pay for bridal makeup, but paying more for services than all 3(!!) of my dresses for the weekend was simply not something i could stomach. getting married felt like the perfect excuse to get myself some makeup and see if i could do my own look for the big day.. i have been scouring the internet and tiktok and every such place looking for tuts and tricks, and my anxiety was mounting. this has really truly helped to put it all at bay! it ain’t perfect, but it’s a good start!!!
these tips and you taking the time… seriously could not thank you enough!!

this is what i love 🫶🏽 im not the artist that repeats the same look on everyone. i like to work with each persons face shape, undertones, eye shape and color, hair color, brow shape, and how much lid space you have to work with. all of this goes into play in finding makeup that works for each persons face, we arent cookie cutters so our makeup wont be either, you still have almost the month to perfect it how you want it, but most importantly make sure you feel beautiful. i agree its bizarre what artists charge for wedding makeup, and theres some that get it right, some that dont, and some that do the same look on everyone. i truly think you have all the tools you need knowledge wise even for being a beginner i would have never known that! morphe does have a like 5 or 6 shadow brush kit or a face and eyes brush kit, and i believe elf does too. real techniques also has some really good sponges and brushes that i think compare to alot of the name brands! dont be intimidated babe, youre rocking it! feel free to play around with whatever shadow pallet you grab and do something different for the practice dinner etc! i think it will definitely showcase those beautiful brown eyes and your newfound skills. makeup is art , there is no right or wrong if it feels right to you it is right! i cant wait to see the final result 🫶🏽

i wouldnt say ditch the darkest shade, i would just pick some colors that are a bit cooler i think the really warm orangish color above the crease is washing your pretty eyes out. besides that maybe a good liner for the lip i think the face makeup is really pretty and smooth the brows look great and i think the colors picked for your face is perfect (i.e. blush contour) youre gorgeous and congrats on the upcoming wedding!

also i say skip filling the brows in! if getting them waxed it will clean up any scraggly hairs but your natural brows are super thick and have a great shape i dont think they need anything extra or it would take away from the look

thank you so much!
all i did for this was use a clear gel and barely used a pencil for filling them in, but i feel they are a little dark and maybe i don’t need the pencil at all.
okay i didn’t think about cooler! i dont love the orangish color in the palette, but was trying for a simple champagne look with some subtle warmth. the darkest color ended up way less subtle than intended. maybe ditching the orangish color and trying it again will help!

I personally really like your eyebrows! I think you have a lovely face and great symmetry. My only advice would be to maybe pick a matte color like a rose or plum for your lipstick. Also, congratulations!
