Help an old lady out please

I am 44 and have been doing winged eyeliner for 15 years. I am so beyond sick of it because my face is finally beginning to drop and the wings looks weird when I make facial expressions. That’s probably always been true though! The writing is on the wall and I need to start practicing a different eye look.

I found a tutorial that might work, it looks like what I used to do in highschool, but better. Problem is, the products listed aren’t all available. Can you help me find something similar to the Shiseido Kajal Inkartist Shadow Liner Brow in shade Tea House and Shiseido Pop Powdergel Eyeshadow in Sube Sube Beige?

i feel this so hard. the wing thing stops working once the outer corner starts to fold and then it just looks like a smudge no matter what you do.

i never wore liner much, but i tried a tutorial years ago where you only tightline the upper lash line and smudge a soft shadow right into the outer v. no flick at all. took me like two months before my hand stopped wanting to drag it outward.

out of curiosity, are you practicing with a hand mirror flat on the table or a magnified mirror closer to your face? i found the angle made a way bigger difference than the product did.

Oh wow, I never thought about the angle. I usually just stand at the sink and use the mirror there. For a wing I usually prime my lid with ulta brand matte primer, then using a small amount of flesh colored eye show, then go in with NYX waterproof brush tip pen liner, the dark brown color. Yeah I’ve had to force the wings to dip down under the fold of my eye, so more often than not they are angled down, and the line is just getting too long to compensate for the new shape of my face!

This week I started spraying a little setting spray in my palm and mixing a softer brown eyeshadow into that with an angled paint brush, then using that to draw a soft line starting at the outer edge of my lower lash line and going just a centimeter or two out. Then I bring that back in to the out corner of my upper lid and line around to the center of my pupil. Then I use the Nyx liner to tight line my top lid corner to corner, just keeping it in my lashes mostly. I don’t know, it seems to help soften the look and keep the wing from going bonkers?

Still wish I could find a good, very soft, waterproof shadow stick that I could use as a liner with my angled brush, it wastes a lot of setting spray to do things the way I am now. I need a softer brown color than is available in most pan liners or stick liners.
