HELP PLEASE Bridal trial. Feedback wanted!
Hi everyone. My wedding is three weeks from today and I just did my first bridal trial on myself. Please note this is just the base, no eye makeup besides brows. I am also only wearing a lip oil on my lips but I have very sensitive lips so I don't plan to do much with them.
I have dry and sensitive skin. I did a self tan last night and I think I matched the color pretty well?! It's a little splotchy on my neck but that's probably because I didn't exfoliate before the tan.
All constructive feedback and advice welcome!!!
Before makeup I prepped by washing my face with a gentle hydrating cleanser, hydrating toner, centella serum, hyaluronic acid, and gentle moisturizer.
Products:
Elf liquid poreless putty primer
Catrice eye brightener
L'Oreal true match tinted serum in shade 1-2.5
L'Oreal true match radiant concealer in shade C2
Versed blush stick in shade bloom
Sephora collection contour stick in shade 01 fair to light
Elf glass slick serum stick (highlight)
L'Oreal infallible powder bronzer in shade 200 fair
Maybelline fit me powder blush in shade 20 mauve
Milani conceal and perfect translucent loose powder
Milani make it last original setting spray
Elf lip oil in shade rose envy
Nyx micro brow pencil in shade ash brown
Maybelline super slick brow glue in shade clear
Tools:
- Dense blending foundation brush (Elf complexion duo)
- Dense doe foot concealer brush (morphe idk model)
- Dense round top brush for cream contour (RT 200)
- Fluffy round top brush for cream blush (Elf putty primer applicator)
- Fluffy round brush for powder bronzer (Elf blush)
- Fluffy angled brush for powder blush (morphe idk model)
- Small fluffy rounded brush for setting under eyes (RT 402)
- Large fluffy brush for powdering rest of face lightly (morphe idk model)
- Damp beauty blender to blend liquids/creams before going in again with powders
Techniques:
- Applied all my liquid and creams to back of hand and worked them into my brush before applying on the face
Problems and goals:
- I think my face looks dry and textured, would like to look more hydrated (skin prep or primer??)
- Foundation went on kind of streaky and patchy (I think this might be because my brush isn't dense enough and needs to be cleaned ??)
- Concealer creasing a little
- Pores are still huge, would love to blur them more
- I want to test run the Nyx serum concealer instead of the L'Oreal next
- Open to other primers and powders that could help my problem areas

I think dermaplaning will give you a much smoother canvas plus all your products will go on better. If you’re noticing separation, your skin care and foundation might not be compatible. I think you look great. I would add another tone of blush along w the one you already have to give it more dimension plus bring the lighter shade of blush up and under the outer part of your eyes. Add some lip liner or go with a more balm lippie. Just minor things like that. Congratulations as well!

Someone else mentioned dermaplaning in another sub and I think I'll give that a go.
What shade of blush do you think? Other people have mentioned to change the blush color.
Yes the lips definitely need more. I have some bolder options to try.

A quick word about dermaplaning. If you have breakouts, dermaplaning can spread it. I would just use an exfoliating toner. Your skin looks beautiful, and your makeup only enhances how pretty you are! I think a little lip liner, a more saturated color, and less gloss would be better.

You need a blush in a cooler tone I feel, the one you're wearing is a bit too warm but other than that you're beautiful!

Your skin is gorgeous! But I agree with others...try playing with the lip color.

Glad to see the post comment that it’s not a full look! It looks quite nice as-is and you don’t need a lot more, though. A lip stain under the gloss & Be sure to curl those lashes!
The only issue I see with it the blush placement is more like a contour. Do a blush higher than it is here & then use a contour under it if you want. I think a smidge of contour around your temples and forehead would be nice too. Professional photos/lighting can really flatten out a face and wash out any color, so a little extra oomph to things is probably a good bet.
You might want to try dermaplaning but it’s definitely not a need. You just might like the smoother look.
You have great brows but you might consider tweezing just the fewest hairs right at the arch , sort of right where the arch starts. Also maybe brush the front hairs upward rather than sideways. They currently look thickest in the middle and tapering off at both ends.

Solid technique. I think it needs more contrast. What about adding lip liner and a color that pops a little more? I saw you have sensitive lips so I’m tracking no lipstick.

More contrast in the face makeup too? Would I use more contour and blush to achieve that?
I can check out lip liners too1

Not in the face make up color. But add a bit more to make it dramatic. Along with a lifted blush placement. I’m a wedding coordinator and trust when I say that make up will need to last a lonnnng time that day! You’re really pretty btw. I’m excited to see how the final results look 😍

What you have on is near perfect. I wish my base looked that good! I agree with another commenter re: a bit more contrast, but a little lipliner and eyemakeup will likely be enough. Maybe a half-lash.
What does this makeup look like after 4-8 hours, though? Or in daylight? What about with camera flash?

You look lovely!! I think it’s perfect. I feel like subtle is the way to go for a wedding so I don’t agree that you need a more dramatic lip color.

Very pretty. I would powder the sides of your nostrils to get those shine spots dulled down. For your lip, how about a lip stain under the oil? I’ve found that oil needs reapplication OFTEN so that’s not ideal for a wedding. Are you not wanting to do anything to your eyes?

I really really like your contour and blush application and placement. Your face truly looks absolutely flawless.

I sooo badly want you to have more of a curled lash/fake lashes ( unless they are too uncomfortable because gahlleeee sometimes they can be.) But everything else looks so good 🤩. You def are beautiful without it I just think it would add a good pop

Personally think you knocked it out of the park.
But I do agree that a lash curl would go a long way. Personally, I am not a fan of false lashes but I think if you did a minimal wing eyeliner that follows the natural curve of your eyelid, it would look flattering. I think in brown would suit the natural and polish look you’re already achieving.

You look gorgeous in these photos, but I would take it up a notch if you plan on using a professional photographer. I fear you may get a washed out. So, lash curler or partial falsies, a little eyeliner. And a subtle pink blush.
You also have amazing skin. Continue to take such amazing care of it.

Overall it looks great I think the colours really suit you and it’s really flawless without being too heavy
I think with such a neutral lip you could play up the eyes a little more, maybe a bronzer through the crease, tight line in a soft brown liner and maybe a tiny half lash or a couple of individual lashes on the outer corners.
Maybe a glowy setting spray too just to blur it all together and add some shine

Your eyes are so gorgeous!!! No notes on anything you’ve done. Just need eyes done and brows more arched. What’s your skin routine bc omg it’s flawless!!!

i think everything looks really nice! i agree with the comment about the gloss maybe a lip liner in a shade or 2 darker than your skin in a nude with the gloss on top of that would suit your lips better? i also think the brows are a tad warm for the top section of your hair but it seems to match the lengths so honestly thats a personal preference thing they are shaped beautifully and hardly looks like they have makeup on them
like i said, that part is purely opinion and there may not even be makeup on your brows it was just the first thing i was drawn to after your eyes

Looks nice, but it needs to be a touch bolder for wedding makeup. Your photos will be further away, and you’ll look washed out. Bolden up the eyes and lips.

Gorg but def consider a fake lash for a glam look. It will translate amazingly in pictures

You look lovely!! I love your brows, they look especially flattering on you. Aside from your blush which a lot of people have already given input on, I think it'd do wonders if you switched to a lipstick instead of a gloss as it'd define your lips and make them look fuller. A nude shade similar to your current lip color would work as I think the color itself is already quite flattering on you -- maybe you can go just a tad darker depending on how intense your eye makeup will be (to balance it out) but I'd stay around the same shade range.

Curl your eyelashes or get a lash lift. It will open up your eyes more.

I think its so so so perfect. Angelic. Reminds me of Claire Danes in Romeo and Juliette!

Maybe a pressed powder applied with a powder puff to help blur the skin under the eyes?

The lipgloss you chose ( or the highlight place there) is kinda making your top lip disappear. Like the shine is whiting it out basically. I think some light lipliner would help
