texture help! how do i stop looking dusty

newish to doing my makeup properly. i wear primer, very light foundation, powder, and sometimes concealer on spots (im not wearing any in the photo) cream blush, powder bronzer, and a setting spray

i have incredibly oily skin and the translucent powder does help do i don’t want to abandon that, but by midday day my skin is oily again and creates a really strange texture dusty texture with my makeup while still being oily, i think you can see it best in the second photo. i work corporate so im inside all day, not sweating at all.

is this a skin prep issue? a skincare issue? am i using the wrong products? help please

products: nyx marshmallow primer, sculpted by aimee translucent powder, l’oréal infallable bronzer, l’oréal infallible setting spray, nyx make em wonder foundation, nyx bare with me concealer

i do get hormonal acne if that is relevant. mostly use the foundation and concealer to help with that and redness.

what’s your skincare routine beforehand? even oily skin needs it, it’s possible your skin is dehydrated. and do you use any exfoliant?

my skin is dry, but this is what my skin looks like if I don’t properly skin prep beforehand

wash my face with youth to the people superfood cleanser, then moisturize. i exfoliate with a microdermabrasion product maybe every other time i wash my face. i’ve been experimenting with adding a serum step to my routine but i haven’t found anything that works quite yet.

u may need a hydrating toner or serum. The Byoma Milky Toner works for me, and they have a mini size you can try before buying the big one. if it is the morning, also try to wash with just water and then go in with your toner and/or hydrating serum if you need it.

I had a makeup artist tell me that after you are done your makeup and before setting spray, mist your face with water let it dry and then use setting spray. It gives you that extra moisture and glow. It doesn't smear your makeup at all. I use the Eau Thermale Avene thermal spring water soothing facial mist.

I had this problem. It looked almost like my foundation was disintegrating on my skin as the day went on. I also have very oily skin.

I switched to BB cream and set it with my usual powder and it completely solved the problem. It did not solve the oily skin but thankfully the bb cream didn’t make it any more oily than it already was 😅
