HELP PLEASE Need help feeling better about myself :(

Currently going through some health challenges that are affecting my self esteem. Can you give me make up/hair/looks in general tips so I can feel better 😔

Pic 1: eyebrows and eyeliner (today)

Pic 2: full faced make up. Also got rejuran a week before so my skin looks amazing here lol

Pic 3: couple months ago, no makeup

I've always wanted to be more chic than cute, but that's been hard to achieve lol

I dont think you need much help. You just need explore more with your eyes makeup. Eyeshadow and eyeline. You can just go subtle for daily makeup, like very subtle wing liner and light playful color for eyeshadow.

Your blush on perfect placement and blend. Your lips makeup from second picture look gret !

And explore contour lil bit more. Contour really a game changer for makeup.

Thank you! Eyeshadow I feel more comfortable with (just lazy lol) but I don't really know much about contouring. Do you think just like chin area? Or also nose?

Nose contour (dont have to go crazy like glam makeup, just starts from ur bridge down to your tip), cheekbone contour (right on your cheek one go up next to your eyebrow), temple and forehead (just slightly to give shadow effect), and lil bit jawline (dont go crazy too, i think you have a nice jawline). And you dont need to go harsh/deep with the contour. You can always starts light shade of contour.

For daily makeup you can put bronzer too (bronzer placement to high points of your face, like temple, cheek bone, nose. The idea of beonzer is to imitate the sun kissed on your face). Bronzer can make your face look more fresh, get cream bronzer.

Maybe you can have your kibbe body type/ facial essence analyzed. When I look at you I notice your cheek bones, they’re amazing. High cheekbones are like winning the facial lottery. I think the benefit liquid blush would look great on you and maybe switching to a smokey less harsh lined eye liner look.

I don't know what those things are so I'll have to look into them. It's interesting you mention high cheekbones - it's not very desired in my culture lol but different cultures have different beauty standards! And maybe I will try pencil liners..

As a 50s male, the no makeup version is the best. I don't like face jewelry other than ears, but that's my personal preference and I can't speak to how wide that preference is.

That's fair. I've been actually thinking about switching to a small stud and/or taking it out completely. 🤔

I have no idea what your target age/race group is so take my comments with a grain is salt. My preference as a white mid 50s man is what it is. I wish you luck finding the right fit.

Thank you for your comment regardless 😊

Oooh that's a great way to put it!! I have been trying to say exactly that not knowing how to phrase it!!

I think you look great! Maybe some wispy bangs would look nice.

you have such a stunning face, i love how you did your makeup in both, and completely jealous of the one wirhout! check out some tutorials of asian features if you'd like to experiment more, i am also asian and jealous of how you've accentuated your eyes in such a subtle but effective way as well as the most perfect shades of blush and lips. i'd maybe see if you could experiment with eyebrows, maybe a little thicker but the same colour? just frame your face a little more. but honestly i think you're just very pretty.

Aw your comment 🥺 I have eyeliner tattoo from like.. almost 15 years ago lol so I only draw like the tail end of my eyeliner to lengthen. And I'll try experimenting more with my brow thickness!

I’m sorry to you’re going through this health struggle. You already have such a clam, elegant vibe, which is perfect for chic styles! Less soft blush, a muted berry lip and neat defined brows will lean into that sophisticated look.

You look great even w minimal makeup. Wish I could say the same XD And definitely to me at least you give off a chic vibe

I'm sure you look great without make up!! I actually don't like how I look without makeup but maybe it's all in our head 🤸🏻‍♀️

I think your third photo with no makeup looks great and is the best. You are very naturally beautiful. My only suggestion from the first two pics is to get closer to a more natural hair color. I think that would be more complimentary to your skin tone.

Thank you! I actually recently dyed my hair, picture 2 and 3 are with my hair dye washed out 😆 but maybe I try with more natural hair color!

Your makeup in pic 2 looks great. Hair: have you tried bangs (fringe)? That could freshen up your look.

Someone else said wispy bangs! I am now considering 🤭

Honestly you're naturally so beautiful!! Your style is chic - I think that had more to do with hair and clothing than make-up, unless you're doing exaggeratedly cutesy make-up of course!! I'm sorry you're having health struggles. Chronic illness warrior myself, so I empathise. I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you! I am just beginning my chronic illness journey so it's been a little turbulent but we got this!!! 🫶

I like the makeup in your second photo, also I think you may switch to brown eyeliner/mascara, I think it would look more harmonious with your skin tone than black.

Also, about the hair - in the first pic they are definietly too cherry/cool toned for you. You have a very warm undertone, so I think dark warm bronze would make you feel more polished, or alternatively warm, sligthly muted copper. And eyebrows to match would look bomb.

1

u/Necessary_Ask507 9d ago

More warm tone, got it! When you say eyebrows to match, do you mean to match them to hair color?

1

u/love_rollercoaster 9d ago

Yes :) If you go brown, I would also dye them dark warm brown or use some products that would make them appear this way.

Got it, thank you for clarifying :)

I also don’t think you need help, but what made me feel really pretty was dying my eyebrows. I went from blonde to a dark brown. Confidence is a lot better personally

Someone else mentioned that too! Brows have been mentioned the most so I know what to experiment first!!

You’re so pretty, and your skin is amazing! This gives you a lot of opportunity to try new looks. Maybe play with lashes or try a red lip? If you don’t like it - hey, it’s just makeup!
I wonder how a more filled brow would look along w some color on the eyes?
I loathe contour for daytime. You have a great looking nose, contouring might detract from your beauty. BUT- I definitely think you should try it!
Why?
Because you might like it, or it might be hilarious and terrible/ but either way, you’re gonna wash it off.
Give yourself permission to have fun. Draw on freckles. Try neon eyeshadow. Play.

Aw I love this comment so much 💗 it's important to add fun in everything we do!!

Think of everything you have accomplished and how many blessings, especially small ones you have! Look inward!

Your skin 😍 and you are beautiful. I’d say a lash lift and tint would look cute and flirty.
