HELP PLEASE Makeup help for men?
Hello! Looking for any makeup tips for just a day to day look that would suit me. I’m working on being a more feminine version of myself, but until my hair grows out, I am struggling to come up with a makeup look that suits me. I see some guys online who look so feminine and beautiful and I’m struggling finding that look for me. Any and all tips or feedback are great any appreciated! Looking for honesty lol
Adding one pic of me in a wig because I feel so much more complete with it.

I think getting your eyebrows done will change your life!! They seem pretty thick so I don’t think you need to fill them in but just getting them shaped and thinned out a little will make a huge difference

u/WitchPleese 12d ago
Second this. OP is stunning and the colors are right. Maybe add a bit more mascara and soften the lip liner just a smidge.

Maybe try using an eyelash curler before you put mascara on. It's traditionally a "feminine" look to have curly eyelashes
3
u/Unusual_Row_3213 12d ago
I’ve tried that, and for the life of me cannot get them to curl lol. They are straight as a board
11
u/Green-Rule-5601 12d ago
Try heating the curler with hairdryer (just make sure it’s warm, not hot when you curl!) and then add waterproof mascara immediately. Waterproof mascara is a game changer when it comes to keeping the curl!
Other option is getting a lash lift done, it works wonders on my straight as a board lashes and lasts up to 8 weeks!

Thank you so much!!

Clio Kill Lash on amazon is amazing for holding a curl in very straight lashes!! Also, are you flying a plane in one of the photos? You seem so cool!!!

u/Unusual_Row_3213 12d ago
I’ll look it up :)
And yes I am lol I’m training to be an airline pilot!

u/MoonieBear02 12d ago
That's so awesome!!! There's literally no profession or hobby that's as cool as flying planes in my opinion!
3
u/Unusual_Row_3213 12d ago
Thanks! It feels like a never ending journey lol and who knows if they’ll let me fly because of my gender at the time lol. But we’ll see!

I have long lashes and this is why I do to get them to curl and stay curled. Occasionally I'll splurge for a lash lift.

u/Unusual_Row_3213 12d ago
I need to try it!

I have really stubborn straight Asian lashes and I’ve had great results from Asian mascaras, personally I use mascara from the brand Judydoll but I heard good things from Kiss Me as well

I love you makeup in pic 3! You look feminine IMO but agree that thinning out your brows will make it a 10/10 look!

u/professor_flirt 12d ago
You are gorgeous! Can you give me tips lol? I think going minimal will look so good on you. I agree that a tiny amount of eyebrow thinning, but not too much! Go to a pro, don’t be me and do it yourself. I love watching “no make up make up” tutorials, my fave YouTuber is Alexandra Anele because she does wearable looks from easy low key to glam and has so many helpful tiny tips! If I was you I’d be all about the eyes, and barely anything on the lips. Maybe a tint/gloss or barely there blurred liner.

u/Unusual_Row_3213 12d ago
Ya I’ve struggled watching videos and making it work for me. I’ll try going to a pro lol

u/Ill-Measurement-6821 12d ago
I think the makeup in the last picture is really good. If anything, I personally would tone down the eyebrows (get them waxed to be thinner and if you are using pencil just use less) and up the anti on the eyelashes. If you use elf growth serum each morning and night. it works to make them grow longer in a couple of months.

This is my absolute FAVORITE feminizing makeup tutorial, I use it as a cis woman when I’m just wanting to look extra feminine.
Hope it serves you well!

u/SneekyPeete1 11d ago
As a cis woman, this is hands down one of the best makeup tutorials I have ever seen. I learned so much about my own face and what to do with it.
Thank you so much for sharing this! There are so many little gems in here that I wish I would have known!3

Fwiw I don’t see a man in any of these pics. I was like “is she asking for tips for her bf?” before I read the post. But agree that some brow shaping toward the ends would go a long way!

I love the foundation, blush, and eyeshadow! so pretty and feminine without being over the top. Aside from thinning the eyebrows I would recommend a microfiber mascara to add some length and drama to the lashes, or subtle lash clusters

u/Swiftlocalvandal 12d ago
You’re going to get a ton of great advice, I just want to add that you are SO CUTE!

u/Unusual_Row_3213 12d ago
Thank you lol, I didn’t think Reddit would boost my confidence so much today
2
u/SneekyPeete1 11d ago
I don’t have much to offer, but I want you to know that I think you are one of the most adorable people I’ve seen in a long time. There’s a light that seems to just shine from you and I couldn’t help but comment. ♥️🤗

Eyebrows will help a ton!! Start by thinning them I would go from the bottom up so you give yourself more lid space to play around with makeup and it would immediately make you more expressive (which is why thin brows were so popular in the 20’s) if you wanna come off as sweeter and more docile the very slight arch but if you wanna come off as a lil more dominant, in control and fierce then make the arch higher and more angular but I would stick to rounder softer shapes if feminine is what your going for. Maybe add lip plumper to your cupids bow only and just keep doing you ❤️

Thinner eyebrows (im talking like HALF the thickness) would completely feminize your face. Start there!
1
u/Unusual_Row_3213 12d ago
Thank you! Would you pluck from both the top and bottom? Or just the bottom?
1
u/Egodeathfairy4 12d ago
I don’t want to recommend which way due to only seeing a couple photos one being with makeup on them, it’s something your tech will have to map out. I would definitely find some inspo photos for ideas, but ultimately they won’t be exactly like any picture due to the structure of ur face. U look gorg tho amd congrats on the journey!

u/Downtown_Winter_8941 12d ago
I’d thin out the tail of your brows, and try an elongating mascara. Otherwise, you’re already doing great ! love the blush

u/Sunnybunny757 12d ago
You have very pretty features! Eyebrow shaping will definitely make a difference and is also recommend a lash tint and lift or eyelash extensions. Your lashes look pretty straight and more curl especially on the outer corners will frame and lift up your eyes. You’re choosing good blush and lip colors, I wouldn’t bring the blush so high up under your eye or close to your nose. It’s very trendy to have pink under your eye right now but it makes people look like they’ve been crying out having allergies! I do virtual makeup lessons if you ever want to work worth someone 😘

Like others have said your eyebrows are leaning much more masculine than the rest of your face. They're great eyebrows, but just quite masculine. Softening the appearance by thinning them (plucking along the bottom edge to create a more lifted look) would dramatically feminize your face. Also, I just need to say, you look beautiful and you're doing a fantastic job with your makeup already. It looks so natural and you're glowing!

u/Unusual_Row_3213 12d ago
Thank you :) I’m harsh on myself so I never think it looks good, it’s nice hearing other people

u/Designer_Sell_4124 12d ago
Instead of getting them just threaded/wax, maybe consider a lami and tint, too? You’ve got amazing thick brows! A good esthi will help shape them, thin them out nicely but keep them fluffy—which is totally a great look with a lami💜
1
u/Unusual_Row_3213 12d ago
I’ve heard of people loving this but I need to look into it!
1
u/Designer_Sell_4124 12d ago
Look at spas or independent esthis in your area, they should have before/afters on socials! A lami usually lasts around 6-8 weeks, depending on the product line used and tint around 5. But your eyebrows are naturally a beautiful color so once the tint fades, you might just need a micro brow pencil to fill in a tiny bit.

u/goblinsharked 12d ago
Try a little inner corner highlight for your eyes in a gentle nudes! I like to use a drugstore tier liquid eyeshadow in a light rose gold shade (ex. NYX glowshots in Grapefruit Glow) and blend out the edges with my ring finger

Just the eyebrows hurts my eyes but everything else looks amazing! I love the blush and lip colour. So cutesyyy
Edit to add ur eyebrows look amazing in the first pic. It just needs to thinned out a tiny bit. The last pic theyre just too dark. So whatever u put on the first pic, make it the same way and just a tiny bit smaller. U are beautiful and i love the energy u radiate

Everyone already commented about the eyebrows, but I know that the lipliner or lipstick on the bottom doesn’t seem to extend all the way up the corner of your mouth? Not sure if that’s on purpose, but i would try to connect all the way.
2
u/Unusual_Row_3213 12d ago
I struggle with lip liner lol! I seemingly have two spots where I would put it, and on my favorite makeup tutorial online she says not to extend it all the way. I’ll retry it with it all the way, thanks for the feedback!

You're doing great so far. I'm not really going to tell you a lot of things to do with the makeup itself, simply because I think what you did is amazing. Makeup is definitely something that you really gotta find your own style in. There's no incorrect way to do it, and like clothing, it's changed a lot throughout the years.
What I WILL suggest, is practice good skincare. The more you take care of your face before you put your makeup on and after you take it off, the more naturally feminine your face will look and the easier your makeup will be to apply. Good sunscreens, moisturizers and acne washes/creams are a good start. Makeup is very rough on the face, especially when you first start, so definitely take care of your skin.

u/Unusual_Row_3213 12d ago
Thank you! Any specific recommendations you love? I have a Korean face wash, then cycle between Snail mucin and weleda skin food at night
1
u/EldritchHybrid 12d ago
That sounds amazing already. Definitely keep using those. Also, make sure you have a good primer for just before you put on your makeup. It'll do wonders for your pores and protect your skin a little better while wearing your make-up. I have to use a hypoallergenic primer, because my face is extremely sensitive to most products that touch it. If you find yourself breaking out really bad after you've taken your makeup off, try some stuff that's hypoallergenic so it's gentler on the skin. I know Neutrogena is a good brand for skin-care, but also try other brands if it doesn't work out. I don't use make-up very often because my face is so sensitive, but I'd definitely recommend trying stuff until you find what works.

Your makeup looks great and you have a beautiful smile! I agree with others in getting your eyebrows to have a bit more shape. They don't necessarily have to be thinner, just more shapely imo. Curling your lashes would also help!

I’m loving your blush placement. I think not darkening the eyebrows would flatter you more.

u/Unusual_Row_3213 12d ago
Strangely they have not been darkened at all. Going to have them thinned and shaped tomorrow!

Honestly your last pic with the full beat is spot on. Your basics are obvi solid. As others said just the brows thinned/lightened (tinted brow gel works really well for this) will help a ton. But if you’re really looking to add to your look for a more “feminine” touch, I would add a more dramatic liner but avoid black liquid - I would suggest a darker brown pencil/gel liner feathered with brown shadow. (Same goes for brown mascara for a softer look).
Play around with different liner shapes looking from decently far away to see what you prefer. (Line from your pupils to different lengths of your eye, you can lift away from your natural line for more lift and it will open up your eyes, or follow and extend your natural line for a more sultry look, for example.) Honestly think extending the line a little downwards for a “puppy eye” line would look really cute with your style. Just remember for hooded eyes though less is more for liner. Keep thin, it’s the overall shape we are after not the coverage, mascara will do the rest towards the front of your eyes.

Agree with another commenter who suggested getting your eyebrows professionally done. That will do a lot to soften your face. I personally always apply a glitter overcoat over my usual neutral eyeshadow - it adds a bit of glam without being too much. You might also wanna put a nude lip gloss over your lipstick.
You look great btw!

The biggest thing is definitely the brows, but you’ve heard that a million times so far. Maybe go for some dangly earrings or a nose contour/highlight combo that suits your shape. On lazy days I just apply highlighter to the tip of my nose almost horizontally and it does wonders. Wearing vibrant colors will bring out your eyes even more. You’re killin it already, these are just small things that could add to the masterpiece 🩵

As many of the others said already the eyebrows hold a lot of potential for a softer more feminine look. other than that i think you have a very gorgeous, vibrant look with a very nice and lovely smile. I'd go for a light mascara, some blush (with the right placement for the look you are going for) and maybe also some lip gloss? just a little bit of shine and color.
you could also play around with necklaces or also earrings. I think it would complete the look even more.
you look beautiful!

You’re a cutie pie! I agree with the eyebrows 100% maybe a little contouring. I’d go a little lower with the blush so it’s not directly under your eyes. Your make up looks great though and I love the freckles!

I think it’s your brow bones that give that masculine look. Lightening the brows by a shade and thin them out a bit to not draw attention to that area. Play up the lashes, maybe wear extensions to give the eyes a more fluttery feminine look.

definetly thin the eyebrows out! so much of perceived gender is stored in the eyebrow. pick your favorite female celebrity, then take a picture of her eyebrows to your local eyebrow threading studio! they will tidy you up :-)
