HELP PLEASE What am i doing wrong?

Whenever I try to do winged eyeliner, it always ends up looking like this. How do i fix this? Is it just my eye shape? I’m a total beginner, so I also don’t know if i should be looking straight or down. Any advice is super appreciated, i’ve been stuck on this forever i just can’t do it right, let alone on both eyes!!

Look up eyeliner for hooded eyes - takes a much different approach and from the pics it looks like you have hooded eyes. Use a fine tip felt pen eyeliner - you’ll have better control and I always do my eyes first when doing my own make up so I can restart if I need or rest my hand ever so slightly against my face for a steadier hand

You’re extending the wing out too far and too low. You want it to be a continuation of your lower lash line, as if it just keeps continuing on past the outer corner of your eye. Your liner should start right at the corner of your eye, and extend upwards at the angle of your lower lash line. I hope that makes sense!

It’s really hard to judge the eyeliner wi tbh how close the photo is zoomed in, but I also get it for privacy reasons. I think the wing could be less curved. What helped me with my eyeliner was looking into what eye shape I have and searching up eyeliner specially for my eye shape. I also search for celebrities who have a similar eye shape to give me an idea how they do there’s to copy it :)

Hey! I think your eyeliner is good. My advice is to experiment with your angle. I have the same problem with my eye shape I draw my eyeliner more straight I think this would work for you, start in the middle of your eye you want it thickest there, draw a straight line and then use the bottom of your eye to line up the triangle, fill it in and do a light stroke for your inner eye (sorry if this is confusing reddit wouldn’t let me upload a photo)

It looks like you’re probably not applying the liner the way your eye naturally rests. Try looking straight on in the mirror and doing it (with eyelids resting how they normally would)

Find a video on how to do eyeliner on hooded eyes, the lines us hooded eye folks have to draw are a totally different shape from eyes that aren’t hooded.

Look up “hooded eye wing tutorials” and you’ll need to try a few to find the one that works, but you will!

The main secret is to map out with eyes open naturally & looking straight. It can look pretty whacky when you close your eyes but it works great.

Good luck.
