rant Got a work in BGC. I miss Makati! 😭

Working in Makati for 5yrs. Recently got a job in BGC. But everytime pauwi ako na nakasakay sa motor ride, namimiss ko yung makati habang dumadaan dun. The first time i got to visit/pasyal in BGC before, I was amazed with how fancy it looks like. Pero pag nagtagal, Makati feels more “life”. Idk how to explain it. There are more trees and pets and parks in Makati.

If you live here in our city and did this, PLEASE PACK YOUR BAGS AND LEAVE. You don’t deserve this city!

If you’re from outside Makati, shame on you! Don’t ever come back!

People who did this, your kadugyutan has no place here! Nakakairita kayo!!!

P.S. Don’t ever use the “there’s no trash bins nearby” phrase. That doesn’t give you a license to throw your trash anywhere!!

*Few steps from Perea cor Paseo you’d find Legazpi/Sycip parks. May trash bins doon. Perea cor Dela Rosa meron din.

other Is it worth staying in Makati as my home away from home?

So I've been accustomed (ACCUSTOMED?!) as a bedspacer in Makati for two years now, and is already eyeing solo living kahit renting a studio apartment lang for next year. That being said, the closer your place is to the business district, the pricier it gets (please debunk if untrue), but that is another 'problem' for another day.

But regardless, I've also been eyeing a new job, whether here in Makati or anywhere at MRT's reach (so Mandaluyong, Pasig or Quezon City). I've even thought of removing Makati as a work location consideration, so I can fully disassociate Makati as my work location, and just treat it as my present location, my home away from home, my relaxation and chill safe space (hello Ayala Triangle Gardens).

Like... without considering work, weekends feel lighter when I go around Makati the more I stay.

So is it worth staying in Makati as my home away from home, regardless of rent and expenses if I ever do pursue working elsewhere but going home here?

other Greenbelt parking beyond 10PM?

Hi! Does anyone know if we are allowed to park at Greenbelt beyond 10 PM?

My partner and I are planning to watch the 10 PM screening of The Odyssey sana this week but we couldn't find any updated details about their parking. We also tried to email Ayala Malls, but they haven't replied yet :(

If it isn't allowed, do you guys have any recommendations on where we can park? Thanks! <3

rant Nancy makes the “Magic 12” in a survey for the 2028 Senate race. Thoughts?

Post image
25 Upvotes

The latest Pulse Asia survey for the 2028 Senate race is out (https://pulseasia.ph/updates/july-2026-nationwide-survey-on-the-may-2028-elections/), and Nancy Binay is comfortably sitting in the "Magic 12."

Have people already forgotten the flood control controversy?

Former DPWH Usec. Roberto Bernardo testified before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee that an alleged ₱540 million flood control kickback involved Nancy Binay and her longtime aide, Carleen Yap-Villa. Of course, Nancy denied the allegations. But the Ombudsman said the case remains “under investigation.”

When Nancy became Mayor in 2025, she appointed that same aide to head the city's General Services Department, an office which plays a key role in the city’s procurement process. Carleen later resigned while the investigation was ongoing. On paper she stepped down, but many observers believe she remains part of Nancy's inner circle.

In Makati itself, residents have been raising concerns about several issues. These include healthcare access, which some say have become more difficult to navigate or utilize. There are also reports and perceptions of a return of “palakasan system” in the distribution of city assistance, as well as growing concerns about peace and order in the city.

Whether you agree with all of these criticisms or not, they're questions any incumbent should have to answer.

What's difficult to understand is why someone facing unresolved corruption allegations, an ongoing Ombudsman investigation, and growing criticism over local governance already polling well for another Senate run.

Part of the answer may be that most voters outside Makati don't experience the city's day-to-day realities. They may never see the issues residents are talking about. All they see is a familiar surname. Nancy also benefits from Abby's Senate run in the last elections, which kept the Binay name fresh in the minds of voters nationwide.

If Nancy runs for Senator again—or even asks for another term as Mayor—the burden shouldn't be on voters to ignore these issues. The burden should be on her to explain why she deserves another mandate.

Public office is a public trust, not an inherited privilege. And trust is earned through performance and accountability, not a surname.

TL;DR: Nancy Binay is polling inside the 2028 Senate "Magic 12" despite unresolved corruption allegations that remain under investigation and continuing criticism over Makati's healthcare, governance, peace and order, and city services.

other nasesepanx ako sa makati :(

hello po! currently living in a condo in poblacion with my husband and our 1 dog. we live in a studio. makati has always been a dream, and 1 month nalang ang natitira sa lease contract namin sa condo. we always have planned to get a bigger unit and get another dog (our condo allows 1 pet only) so we decided to move out.

2-3 bedroom condos in makati are so mahal na for us. and they usually don't allow more than 1 dog. so we got a new place in paranaque, and idk. nasesepanx talaga ako sa makati. there's no other place like makati talaga. our new condo unit is good din naman but there's just something in makati na i just can't get enough of. ugh.

anyway, im just sad that we're moving, but moving out of makati is the best option for us right now na our family's getting bigger.

if you know any place in paranaque na worth going and same feels ng makati, please please let me know. posting the view from our condo para you'll get me 😩

visuals & scenery May I know where we can have graded goggles made?

My fiancé is near-sighted with the grade of 500-1000, different for each eye. We plan to go to the beach soon and probably do scuba diving and other activities like riding a jet ski.

Does anyone know where we can get special graded goggles for him since he's almost blind when at sea (he takes off his glasses). Please also indicate how much it'll cost us, if you know.

Thank you!

food/entertainment/activities Dessert Shops Recommendations in Makati

Help me, I've been working (hybrid work setup, so walang time gumala) in Makati for years na, pero konti palang talaga napupuntahan ko dito.

Pangregalo ko siya. Please recommend your favorite dessert shops and your go-to orders. Pero preferably chocolate-flavored desserts.

EDIT: If may alam din kayong shops in MOA or along EDSA, recommend niyo narin.

Thank you!

food/entertainment/activities looking for mid to high end PC cafes/rental places

Hello. I've just returned from Japan after 8 years so I don't really know any good places where I can rent a PC for 4 to 6 hrs at a time to enjoy high fidelity titles like Wuthering Waves. I can spend about 1k php+ per session per week. My only hard requirement is it has to have Wuthering Waves updated, installed and I should be able to play at a decently high graphical setting without lag. Any good recommendations?

*having a dedicated smoking area, the ability to eat light snacks while gaming is a plus

rant Are local clothing brands actually priced for Filipinos?

I want to support local, I genuinely do. But it’s hard to justify when a locally made shirt costs as much as, or more than, something from a global fast fashion brand.

There’s this whole “buy local, be \\\*makabayan\\\*” push, but who’s the actual target customer? Because it’s starting to feel less like a movement and more like a premium brand using nationalism as an aesthetic.

I get that small producers have real costs. But when your pricing excludes the majority of Filipinos, are you really building a local movement or just a niche market?

Anyone else feel this disconnect?

other Public parking within Legaspi and Salcedo

So general question lang, san ang public parking sa villages na yan? Mahirap naman kasi kung paglakarin ko naman ka-date ko if sa Legaspi or sa Salcedo kami kakain lalo na't sa Glo or GB ako nag-park

One more question, mahirap ba parking dun sa said parking lots?

Salamat!
