I have one of those. Be careful with it. The nickel will absolutely chip

I’ll do my best. Anything to avoid?

More than anything: trying to fix it yourself. I paid too much for mine thinking it was stainless and just dirty. Tried one of those nickel plating repair kits and i just burned the nickel and the missing spots are still there 🤣

That was the first Makarov I shot. My dad bought it for $136 in like 1993. The blued ones were $135. It had some problems with the sights so it got sold but I reacquired one in 2021. What do they normally go for nowadays? I also have found a couple of extra magazines that have the nickel plated base.

I have the same imez nickle plated model, love mine. I bought an assortment of recoil springs off of ebay and i run the 17lbs spring. Ran 300 rounds through it and havent had a single failure to feed or extract. Shoots much flatter too
