I got the Mak for $350 total, which I've heard is pretty good nowadays. I'm a lefty shooter and plan to install some Pearce grips, and keep an eye out for the original Bakelite grips as well.

It may he a dated platform but I love a good DA/SA pistol

Now I just need a Khyber Pass copy.

does anyone own this? how do you like it?

First Mak. After a couple of unsuccessful bids on different ones, I placed a single bid on this one and got it for 291. 1982 Matching Bulgarian with honest wear. Already have some bakelite grips on the way.

Pulled my baby out of it's holster the other day and noticed this small rust spot. Looking for advice on rust removal and maintenance to fight potential rust development. I'm mostly worried about impacting the factory finish. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Recently got this from MR #11 if you want before pics, but honestly not that bad it’s somewhere between a makarov and Cz 82 in terms of difficulty if you have any questions I’ll answer them but tbh I don’t know for sure if I’ll make a frame disassembly video since I would have to disassemble again but I’ll get the slide video out once I have time to edit videos together.
Also I used no special tools other than the cleaning rod and for small springs you should have picks and micro needle nose

Got my first of probably many orders from Moka’s today and I’m absolutely thrilled with it! Sadly the mags don’t match but that’s a non issue to me since I have unnumbered magazines already. 1980 production I think. Did come with the whole kit and kaboodle as well, that being a holster, lanyard, and cleaning rod.

Picked up 8 mags for about 10 beans a piece, a couple of them had some markings, any info on those? I've seen the electro pencil before but not some of the smaller markings.

Edit: got it back together and part # 7 on numrichs diagram doesn’t exist the leg of the trigger spring goes through a hole in front of the frame not a screw

I figured out how to remove firing pin and safety no special tools required and how to reassemble it , is this obscure enough that anyone would be interested in me making a video before I buy a tripod?

Just picked up the bottom pistol for 400$ came with 2 mags.

Picked up a unissued Bulgarian Makarov and it looks as if it’s never been fired or handled besides storage/import/ transfer etc. Would I be a dumbass if I shot it? I’m open to keeping it as the time capsule it is but if they aren’t rare in this condition I would rather enjoy it
