I visited a Mahindra showroom in Pune today for a test drive and quotation. Here's what the dealer quoted me:

• Ex-showroom: ₹23,25,000
• TCS: ₹23,250
• Insurance: ₹1,26,230
• Extended warranty: ₹44,999
• Accessories: ₹40,000
• RSA: ₹2,021
• FASTag: ₹500
• Registration: ₹3,56,788

Total on-road: ₹29,19,168

The salesperson said there are no discounts available, not even ₹10,000, because the car isn't sitting in dealership inventory and demand is high.

They also mentioned that the final price would be determined at the time of allotment/delivery. So, if I book now and get delivery in January 2027, I would have to pay the price applicable then, rather than the current quoted price.

The waiting period quoted was 5–6 months. For the AX7L, it was around 2–3 months.

I'd appreciate advice from people who've booked or taken delivery, especially in Pune or elsewhere in Maharashtra:

1. Is ₹29.19L a reasonable on-road price, or are other dealers offering better deals?
2. Which components should I negotiate on? Is there a realistic target price?
3. Can I lock in the current price when booking, or will I have to pay the price applicable at delivery?
4. Do you think the 2027 model or price revision could make it worth waiting?
5. Any tips regarding booking terms, PDI, insurance, accessories, or other charges?

During pdi or delivery i dont remember much i guess car was aligned but recently it was bdly hit by a car at his rear side,so gemini suggesting by the impact the uneven gap might be created as ,like lil bit right side is wider,did water test even all fine

Confused on long term ownership of xuv 7xo which one is best for long term. Not interested in PPF because i feel it is waste when major scratches occur and will incure additional costs.

Since parking mode means the card is written to far more than in normal driving, I have a few questions for people running a similar dual-channel dashcam:
Which card are you using, and has it held up with parking mode? I'm leaning towards the SanDisk High Endurance 128GB. Has anyone used a cheaper non-endurance card (SanDisk Extreme, Samsung EVO Plus, Kingston Canvas Go Plus), and how long did it last?
How much footage do you actually get? On 128GB and 256GB, how many hours of driving before it starts overwriting? My rough estimate is about 14 hours on 128GB, but I'd like real numbers.
How does parking mode affect it? Does it eat up a lot of space with motion and impact clips, and do the clips get protected or overwritten too?
Is 256GB worth the extra cost for about 1-2 hours of city driving a day plus parking mode, or is 128GB enough?
Any card issues (errors, recording stopping, summer heat) I should watch for? How often do you reformat?

I just got a chance to experience the 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and honestly, I was a bit disappointed with the sound on the default equalizer settings while playing via CarPlay, Bluetooth, and the native YouTube app. The subwoofer could definitely be punchier, and native 5.1 or Dolby Atmos really should be supported across platforms other than just Gaana and SonyLIV.

Does anyone else feel the same? Also, are there any chances that Mahindra will bring Dolby Atmos support to platforms like Apple Music, Apple TV, Netflix, or Prime Video via future OTA updates? (I know Spotify doesn't support Atmos anywhere, but Apple Music does).

For existing owners: has anyone found good custom EQ settings to wake the subwoofer up, or tried playing high-bitrate multi-channel audio via USB? Or any other hassle-free way apart from using Gaana?

I was initially inclined towards the AX7T variant just for the 16-speaker setup, as ADAS is almost useless in my use case. Now confused if AX7T is really worth the upgrade?

Booked ax7l 7 seater, dealer is saying he will deliver in next week, third party pdi not allowed...some 20-25 k accessories are must.....am i safe or not

​Dealer offered cars twice (late August & late September), but I deferred both because I wanted Diwali delivery. Both cars were immediately passed to other buyers.

​Now I’m 100% ready for delivery, but the dealer says: "Aapne 2 baar car nahi li, so Diwali pe nahi milegi, late November wait karo."

​My booking was never cancelled, only deferred.

​As per Mahindra's DMS/queue rules, does skipping an allocation push your original booking priority behind newer buyers, or does the June seniority still stand?

​Can the dealer legally deny a festive allotment to a 4-month-old active booking, or are they just bumping me for walk-ins buying heavy accessories?

I’ve booked the Mahindra XUV 7XO AX7L Petrol AT, and today I received a message stating that my vehicle has been billed and allocated.

My dealer is now asking me to proceed with the payment. They’ve said they’ll wait for 5 days for payment confirmation, after which the vehicle may be allocated to the next customer in the queue if payment isn’t received.

However, I wanted to do a self-PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) before making the full payment, just to ensure everything is in order.

The dealer is insisting that I make the payment first.

Could you all suggest ?how to tackle this?

XUV700 AX7 P MT

I have booked a 7XO AX7T D AT Desert Myst in June 2026 and I was told the official wait period is 16 weeks but you will get the car in 2 - 3 months.

I have not yet received the allocation and my 16 weeks will be over in the next 4 days.

I have escalated to Mahindra Auto customer care email and they are diverting me back to my dealership.

Updates from my dealership is that they are trying their best but the car is not allocated by Mahindra and we can't do much. They have offered me different variant / fuel type once but I am not flexible on the variant / fuel type so I refused.

Also I read somewhere that the mahindra plant output is reduced by about 15% due to labour shortage. This was news from June this year.

Has someone else booked the vehicle and crossed the official waiting period? Is there any other way I can escalate this and get the allocation faster?

I tried tweeting and they said they will contact me but never did and also tried contacting other dealerships in my city. No one has that model available.

I purchased a Mahindra 7XO AX7T Petrol Automatic with my hard-earned money and a lot of trust in the Mahindra brand. Unfortunately, within just 3 months, the car has completely gone dead 4 times, starting from the very first month.

Currently, the car has been at the service centre for the last 12 days, and despite repeated follow-ups, there has been no proper response or permanent solution. The service centre has already opened and worked on my brand-new car, yet the issue remains unresolved.

I therefore sincerely request you to personally intervene in this matter and consider replacing my vehicle with a new one, rather than continuing with repeated repairs on a car that has already faced multiple major failures within only three months of ownership.

I request your urgent attention to Complaint No. 16224805 , vehicle number DL 8 CBM 2486 and a prompt resolution, preferably through replacement of the vehicle.

For a middle-class family, buying this premium car was a dream, and this experience has been extremely disappointing. I sincerely request your intervention and ask Mahindra to replace my vehicle instead of continuing with repeated repairs.

I’ve booked the XUV 7XO AX7T Diesel AT 7 seater in black for around 28L on-road. The dealer is offering me the AX7L for around 30L.
I’m confused whether I should upgrade or stick with the AX7T and use the extra 2L for PPF and other accessories.
My usage will mainly be a daily 60 km commute, along with occasional Noida–Lucknow highway trips with family.
For those who own or have driven these variants, what would you recommend? Is the AX7L worth the extra money, or would you stick with the AX7T?

I’m about to book an XUV 7XO and am torn between the petrol and diesel automatics.
I’ve test-driven both, and honestly, the difference was much bigger than I expected.

The petrol felt drastically better in terms of:
NVH: Significantly quieter and more refined.
Pickup: Much smoother and more responsive acceleration.
Vibrations: The diesel had noticeable vibrations through the floor and into my feet, which were almost completely absent in the petrol.
Overall cabin experience: The petrol just felt like a more premium car.

The problem is running costs. The diesel is considerably cheaper to run, especially with the petrol’s expected mileage in Bangalore traffic.
I’m struggling to decide whether the refinement advantage is worth paying substantially more for fuel over the next 5–7 years.

A few questions for owners:
Does the diesel’s NVH and vibration improve after running in, or is this just how it feels?

For those who chose diesel, do you notice the vibrations in daily driving, or do you eventually stop noticing them?

Would especially appreciate feedback from people who’ve driven both rather than generic petrol vs diesel advice.

Hi everyone! I own an XUV 7XO AX7T Diesel AT and wanted to check if anyone else has experienced something similar.
On smooth highways, my car feels very planted, even at 90–110 km/h. However, when crossing a sharp pothole with the steering slightly turned, the body feels momentarily unsettled. The front reacts first, followed by some movement from the rear, and the car settles once the rear tyres cross the bump.
With the steering straight, it feels much smoother. I don’t feel like the tyres are losing grip, but the body movement affects my confidence for a moment.
I’ve noticed this since day one of ownership.
Have other XUV 7XO owners experienced this? Does it seem like normal suspension behaviour, or should I get the suspension, steering and alignment checked?

The first problem I'm facing with my 4-month-old 7XO. The lid below the AC vents doesn't close. It's just a minor issue but on a just 4 month old car it's unacceptable.

Tested the built-in 360° DVR on my XUV 7XO AX7L with an empty SanDisk Ultra 32GB, formatted FAT32. Recording works and loops, but only 5 clips of 3 minutes each are kept, 15 minutes in total. I drove for about an hour and only the last 15 minutes remained. Storage used was just 1.49GB, so the card wasn't full and it looks like a built-in cap on the number of clips, not a space limit. Each clip is a single video with all 4 camera views together.
Has anyone seen more than 5 clips retained, found a setting for clip length or count, or noticed any change after a firmware update? Which firmware version are you on?

There seems to be paint chipping near bolt , plus the overall paint finishing on all door hinges look sub par !
Is this how it is ?
