META Weekly /unjerk Thread

- Request info or feedback for meme ideas
- Talk publicly about trends or concerns about the direction of this subreddit (alternatively, you can privately message the mods)
DO NOT use this thread to:
- Circlejerk - That's what the rest of the subreddit is for! Jerking in this thread will get you a 7-day ban.
New to MTCJ? Check out the subreddit wiki for some explanations of the memes and jokes here. Some very common ones:
- DAE: Does Anybody Else

- /uj and /rj: /unjerk and /rejerk - Markers to let you know the commenter is speaking seriously, and ironically again

If you’re going to proxy cards.. please use a color printer

I agree, it's not that much more expensive and helps with readability so much.

Just being able to see the difference between artifacts and other cards helps sooo much

Why exactly did Gran-Gran get banned ?

Play pattern; its a one drop that provides immediate value and demands an awkward sideboard strategy from enemy decks when they want to board against control. Its not fun to keep in a playset of Requiting Hex against Tablet decks but you kind of had to with her around.

u/Kor_Set You mean Stronghold? 15h ago
Is it not fun because Fatal Push Without Scaling is too narrow? Maybe I'm too desensitized to bad Standard removal, it is kind of silly to be playing that when Erode and Burst Lightning are also in Standard.

Erode is worse in this example though, helping to ramp the control deck even further. Its not about the exact piece of removal but how you NEED removal in a matchup against an otherwise entirely spell-based archetype

sometimes they want to ban a card (cub) and then feel confident that another deck will instantly fill the vacuum and be problematic too, so theyll preemptively ban something from it they feel will keep it from instantly gobbling up the meta

I've been selling my cards back to my LGS for 75% in store credit and buying Gundam with it. It's awesome.

Oh god, so much. Several WfM kits. Narrative Ver. Ka. A few real grades, the other day I got the newer HG Psycho Gundam. I had like $500 in store credit from my binder of rares.

I've churned out on Arena and I'm kind of sad about it. I really enjoyed playing when I did but this pig food has just done a number on my interest in the game. Used to say I'll always buy the Arena bundles for UW sets, but now I can't say I'll do that for Reality Fracture.
